Hi,

(kind of a newbie q) I am creating a custom header for a Ning (http://biblfeed.ning.com/), and my question is, what is the maximum size of the header. I read on Nings help page that it is 955px x 100-175px, but I've seen bigger headers. Does anyone know how big you can go? We want a more of a squarelike header logo, kind of like on this page:

Many thanks people!

Hi Jonas,

Firebug is your friend! Download the firebug add-on for Firefox. You can then go to any site, place  your cursor anyplace (in this case, the header) and on right click,  "inspect element"  You would then see that the header is an image 811x245 pixels set in a white background giving it the appearance of size. Use firebug and you will learn a lot!

Thank you James! Excellent!!! I WILL use Firebug. Amazing how fast I got my answer! :) Thanks again!

You're welcome Jonas!

Another great source is w3schools. Many online tutorials about coding ,scripts, design, etc. Become your own expert!

You can go at any big you want

just add this code into the Advanced box

but the width for Ning is 955px and you can change the height

#xg_masthead /*Header*/{margin: auto; display: block;height:200px; width:955px; background-color:transparent ; background-image: url(image_ulr); background-repeat: no-repeat; background-position: top center}

that worked perfect for me .. thank you

You welcome
