Noob question:

I'd like to add to my network's mobile version a tab to My Groups. Simple URL. Using the mobile pages setup I can create a custom HTML page with an HTML href link to the My Groups' URL.

That I can do.

But of course, the link just sits there. Clicking it goes to the My Groups page nicely formatted for mobile. But one has to click it for it to do anything.

Is there a simple bit of code one of you code-Jockey NCs could share that would make that static href redirect to the URL on loading?

Learning, always learning ...

Hi Jeff, you should just be able to create a new mobile page of the type Group, set it to show My Groups, and give it whatever title is appropriate.

Thanks,
Phil

Yeesh. I had missed that. Didn't see I could have multiple Group-type pages. Solves my immediate problem. Thanks!

It would still be great to know if there's a little bit of magic code that would launch a URL in an HTML-type page. That would still be a really useful thing to learn. Thinking of all sorts of pages that would be sweet to have on mobile.

Hi Jeff,

You should be able to do something like:

<script>
document.location.href = 'http://example.com';
</script>

Thanks,
Phil

That's the stuff! Thank you!

It looks like your mobile design, add, function is working... I have tried to change the name (i.e. "Blog" to "News") and tried to add the "Events" page and I cannot save these changes - it is as if the "Save" button is not linked correctly.  I can re-arrange the pages... but not add or make changes to any of the pages.  I must be missing something.  Any help would be appreciated.

Martin, mine's working fine. I've changed the names ("titles" they call it there) on three page types. I've added several pages and am now up to eight. Might be worth a support ticket.
