Help with adding photos and suggestions for my site

Hello,

I am thrilled to be a new member of Ning Creators.  First up, I am not techy so that is a big KUDOS to Ning for making it pretty easy for someone like me to get as far as I have creating my site.

I am working on building my site, which can currently be found at www.shareyourmilitarystorycom.ning.com.  It is a site where anyone who has ever served in the military to post stories, and then anyone sign up can comment, etc.

 

I have tabs at the top "Currently serving" and "in Memory Of"  where people could hopefully post pictures with short descriptions.  I have spent hours looking for a way for people to easily submit pictures in these two tabs and have it look like an album.  (to make it worse, my Windows Vista operating system the other day downloaded updates which now will not let me load images with the image button, acts like it is uploading something but never does).  

 

Does anyone have any ideas of how I could construct these two tabs so that people can view lots of pictures with short descriptions?

 

Also, as a newbie I would love any feedback as I plan to launch it in the next two weeks when more stories, comments and resources are added.  I have a guy doing header graphics for me as we speak.

I love what you have done!!! VERY IMPRESSIVE. We are vets.  I'm not sure because I have the Pro Plan... but inside the groups there is a "PAGES" feature in the Pro Plan. You can add unlimited pages and that might be a start for the album theory you're looking at. :) Click on your GROUPS and select the GROUP you have. See if it shows a "PAGES" column...where you might be able to add a PAGE inside that GROUP.
