Eric, can you guys also now help with how to get our ning sites delisted from email blacklists...I have no idea what these delist instructions are about :-(

Today I sent out a broadcast email to 16k members, as I try move email delivery away from Ning by using a brand new list with AWeber, but their ISPs are rejecting my mail.

I thought any 'problems' would not follow me since email was going via AWeber (?) but the people who cannot sign up via my ning broadcast have no trouble signing up to the same list via Facebook, but I don't want to send everyone through FB :-(

Any deciphering of the instructions for delisting much appreciated!

If you get info on this please let me know also, having the same problems. Thanks

I wonder if it has anything to do with this.

I don't think I will be able to help with other ISPs that may be blocking your email. I would probably need you to contact our support team. I won't make any promises because I am just not sure they can help with that, either, but you should ask them for a definitive answer and to get a record of your request in our system.

It's not the ISPs, it's help with getting the Ning IP delisted from that blacklist - it talks about checking reverse DNS etc and I have no idea what it's on about or what I'm looking for; is it even an important 'blacklist' to warrant the effort??  I can deal with the ISPs myself but I will put in a ticket, thank you.

I'm with you on this one.

Okay, webwahm, thanks for that detail. Whenever someone says reverse proxy or reverse DNS, I know that it's probably a question I won't be able to answer. So, please do let us know with a ticket so we can route it to the bigger brains and hopefully get you an answer.

I would love to hear if you were able to get this resolved, as I am also having my web link blocked by Facebook with an error message saying the site has been reported as abusive.  I entered my IP into blacklistalert.org to find I am listed on v4bl.org.  After reading their "See Why" information here (http://v4bl.org/DELIST/), I have to wonder if the problem is related to my RDNS record not matching my FQDN, as I am domain mapping to ning from my own domain hosted by Go Daddy.  If the RDNS is .ning.com, but the FQDN just .com could this be causing the problem?  I am about to create a ticket on this as well.  Fingers crossed I get an answer, as I plan on using FB for marketing the site, but will not be able to if they continue to block my link!

Boy, Nicole, that is a complicated question. Not sure, but I doubt that is the reason. I think that when this happened previously, it was based on a flag from Norton. Facebook has a partnership with Norton to flag spammy links, and if Norton decides something is spammy, well then you're kind of at their mercy. We'll try to get to the bottom of it.

For those who are interested, see below for the response to my ticket on this;

At present, this issue seems to be browser-specific, as most of us in the office could reproduce the issue in Safari and Firefox, but most found that links worked fine in Chrome. A network's privacy setting may also be playing a part in this, so for the time being, you're welcome to see if setting your network to be fully public resolves things on your network.

Our Policy and Safety team is reaching out to Facebook's team to see why this issue is occurring. I'll be happy to follow up with you in this ticket when we have more information or when this issue is resolved.

I haven't tried using Chrome, but the problem has occured for me on both Firefox and Safari and my netwrok is currently set to Private, by invitation only, so this all sounds reasonable.
