I have took the plunge and upgraded to pro for a month to see if i can try and save my network -my members love it problem is I don't have an admin team with any experience and i cant drive new membership.
I am trying to engage with poll daddy and the answers apps but im all out of idea's and funds and my members are getting bored with lack of network activity !
Could any of the creators please critic my network and offer any advice - I am way past being offended by opinions it's simply now succeed or close.
I didnt start to fail and dont intend to allow it to fail but need a little help
thanks in advance
Ryan

Permalink Reply by Alan Mclaughlin on October 25, 2012 at 1:17pm Hi Jen
It would be great to get some help from ning but im sure we can put our faith in yourself as always we had the year from hell and only got Kirsten home last Tuesday - 16 months in hospital, 9 operations and 3 coma's later we are hopeful that we are on the right track now !
Sadly with all this the site slipped behind and we lost some of the momentum.
I plan to create a landing page with an intro video and some features as below
Experience the magic that comes from meeting other patients face-to-face. Join or create local meetups in your city.

Tracker think may be an android app and i may have to do a fix but hope to solve next few days and the treatments app is amazon aws /s3 app or plugin
I need to enhance the forum im going to have a look your site for some code to improve appearance and i'll get to work on blog posts etc !
p.s I have attached a copy of Ryan's book inspired by the network and his story as i promised previously.

Oh Alan, I'm so sorry. I didn't realize Kirsten had gone through all this. My prayers are still with all of you.
Your plans sound promising. I will continue to think on this. I'm looking forward to reading Ryan's book. Thank you!
My best to Ryan and Kirsten.

have not had time to update you properly I apologise for not keeping you posted and with my blogs network I came back to quite a few emails and probs to resolve - book is great and his film will be realeased in cinema's on 18th January - UK wide - London Premier ! Woohoo !

Alan,
I've got to finish up a project, but took a quick look. This is AMAZING! Ryan is so incredibly talented. I'll look and read this evening. I'm a little surprised Ryan's credit is only in the title?
Thanks again for sharing,
Jen
Permalink Reply by Susan Daniels on November 6, 2012 at 7:51pm OMG. That is a very nice, shiny site. And, a very good cause. I've been building Ning for almost four years and still have problems getting member involvement. The 2 I'm running now are still in development because I take much longer and put more thought into what I do ahead of time now. I can't see anything disparaging about your site. If your problems are financial, try one of many, many crowd source sites available. If it's getting member's involved...I'm still learning, but I recommend a business page in Facebook and Google Plus for free traffic - keep a flow of new members coming in and build those relationships on a one-by-one basis. Put some ads on Facebook and Google +. I am starting to lean more towards Google+ than Facebook after a few years...Facebook has too many restrictions - too many rules. (For introverted, timid people like me it makes it nearly impossible to make any money with the use of Facebook because I'm always afraid I'm going to do something wrong. LOL!) I also recommend a world class coach, like Mari Smith who REALLY knows social media inside and out. Here's a link to a free teleseminar: http://bit.ly/PTcFmK I hope I'm not stepping on any toes for posting that link. I sincerely recommend her to people who have hit a stalemate.
But ultimately, getting member engagement is has always been the toughest piece for me. What I have learned is that reaching out in a friend-next-door way and just building the relationship one person at a time is what works best for me. People aren't numbers and they can feel it if they are being funneled. I'm not implying that is what you are doing, it's the old school way I was taught for years and it just doesn't work anymore.
Warmly,
Susan
