Hide Manage Tabs from Forum Moderators

Is there a way to hide the Manage Tab from Forum Moderators or at least not allow them to make changes to the forum categories? Manage Tab should only be available to Owner or Special Admins of the site.

Right now when we promote a member to be a forum moderator, it also gives them the right to add and delete the forum category. I need help in maintaining the discussions but at the same time I am hesitant to give the power to delete the whole category to the moderator.

Why I am hesitant? Read Below....

During the the time when we don't have the moderator option yet, I have a couple of members who are helping me managing my forums by reporting any posts that they think is innapropriate to our site. I watched their behavior in the network for about a year before asking them for their help in the forum. Due to the task given to them, these 2 members felt that they are more special than the other members. When they had a disagreement with some members, I sent them a message that their behavior towards one member was not appropriate and will not be tolerated. They did not like my warning. They tried to put down my network by posting comments to all the members comments page claiming that the network is about to close down and invited them to another network similar to mine.

Lucky me that moderator option was not yet available during that time, If I had given them the forum moderator role, they could have done more damage to my network by deleting all the categories and essentially wiping all the forum content in less than a minute.

I feel that I have a few members that I can trust this time but I'm hesitant to give them the manage tab access, as they can intentionally delete the forum category or delete it by mistake.

Same exact thing happened to me.
Good moderation is hard to find.

This is the reason I have no moderators-- to me, the admin and moderator roles of the features are mashed together. Moderators should be able to do only that-- moderate content. Admins should be able to add/create new areas/categories/etc. As it is, unless you completely trust the person and can control them, you are literally at their mercy.

Other moderator options, ie. members, pictures, videos does not give manage tab and works great but I'm not sure why Forum moderator gets to have the manage tab available for them.
