How to add a horizontal ticker tape

Hi

Really hope someone out there can help me.

I'm wanting to add a horizontal ticker tape the complete width of my page and need this to be between my header image and the navigation bar. I want to be able to add custom text to this on a weekly basis to display latest news, updates, future news etc.

If anyone can give some advice it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Sean,'

I think this code will do the trick. 

Step 1 : Go My Network > Featured Layout > Instant Ad box > check Below Header> and save it.

Step 2 : Go to My Network> Tools> Custom Code > and paste the following code into this box and save it.

x$('#xg_navigation').before(x$('.xj_ad_below_header'));
});
</script>

Now you can see the ad box just above navigation bar where you can add anything you want.

Bernand, I need a custom search that just searches for all users who have entered in a particular field? In my case it's just usrs who have entered their kik username. Possible?

I have never tried and seen this kind of functionality here in ning. Let me check, if there a way to find kik entries, I will surely let you know.

Hi Bernard many thanks for this I appreciate your help.

I'm a bit of a newbie to all this so can I clarify - it says the instant ad is invisible to members - Is it only invisible to members if I don't put anything in the ad box as I want the ticker tape text to be visible to all members?

Do I need to put some javascript inside the instant ad box to get the ticker tape/scrolling text effect?

Hi Sean,

Yeah that's right, instant ad is invisible  to members if it is empty.When you add any content, then it will be visible to everyone. 

And yes you need to put some kind of code probably javascript code inside the ad box to show your ticker.
