A lof of people ask us about the "slider" on Creators at the top of our Main Page. They love it. We do, too!
A slider (sometimes also called a "carousel"or "hero" box) automatically rotates in and out promotional content. It's a very effective way to spotlight specific things on your network that you want returning members (and visitors) to notice and visit. You could also use a slider like this to run your own ads, particularly if you have lined up sponsors or advertisers directly and can create an ad for them. It looks like this:
I know that a number of Network Creators are going to flip over this new slider we've created. It's free for the taking, so check out this article on Adding a Slider to see if it's something you'd like to put on your network.
You will need to be able to upload the images you want to display, and you can do that with the File Manager (among other ways). You will also need to be able to look at some HTML, but these instructions are straightforward and should be doable for most Network Creators. If you're unsure about how to do it, you might want to try it out first on your test network and then paste the final code into a Text Box on your live network.
Enjoy!

Permalink Reply by Michael Thompson on October 21, 2011 at 2:40pm I placed the slider on my test network and it is working fine. Now I want to replace the photos with my own photos, but the photos that I want to use are of different sizes. How do I modify (re-size) the photos to a size that will fit properly. What is the preferred tool to re-size photos?

Permalink Reply by Heilige Koei on October 26, 2011 at 3:51pm Hi. I dont know if this problem have already been mentioned, if so, please refer me to the answer.
I inserted the code and customised the slider to my liking and everything worked fine. But I realised that if I leave the webpage with the slider open for more than a few minutes, the slider randomly starts to slide frantically - much faster than it normally does. This phenomenon has become quite irritating and degrades the professionalism of my site.
Anybody with a solution? I will really appreciate it!

Permalink Reply by Eric Suesz on December 5, 2011 at 9:32pm You will see an img tag in your code everywhere an image is located. You'll need to size your images so they fit and host them (upload it to the File Manager if you want). Once you have a location for that image, just put the URL for the image in that location where your img tag is (between the two quotation marks).
Permalink Reply by TJ Gilsenan on December 20, 2011 at 1:40pm Just added and it looks great! I would like to appear as on the creator page - above the 1st 2 columns of a 3 column layout. How do I do that? Thanks!!
Permalink Reply by Maria O on December 23, 2011 at 9:14am I've finally figured out how to modify and add this code- but I need your help with adding an extra slide- for some reason the overlay on the 4th slide is too low, and you can't read the headline- in fact the overlays from slide 1 through 4 get lower and lower- what do I need to adjust in the code and where?
And what if I need to add another slide?
Please have a look here http://LivLuna.com/
Please be specific in your response- I don't know HTML and am trying my best.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS! and THANK YOU so much for responding and helping me with this- it's driving me nuts, and I should be wrapping Xmas presents instead...
