Greeting everyone,

I run a site called HODINFO  I have many members from other countries and have been looking for a good translation service that will continue to translate between pages of my site. Attached is the code required to make this happen. All you have to do is put a text box on the right side of your network so that it will appear on all pages. Then click the attachment below called googletranslate.txt right click and view source then copy and paste the code into that text box via the html section and hit save. Viola you now have google translate on your network.

 Update 06/26/2012 just use the code between the lines.

-------------------------------------------------------

<div id="google_translate_element"></div>
<script type="text/javascript">
function googleTranslateElementInit() {
new google.translate.TranslateElement({
pageLanguage: 'en'
}, 'google_translate_element');
}
</script><script src="http://translate.google.com/translate_a/element.js?cb=googleTranslateElementInit" type="text/javascript">
</script>

Thank you so much for such a great solution, and for making it so simple.
You should change your category to "tutorials and how to's". This way, nc's can locate it in that section.
No problem Dave 99.
Thanks ThunderX I moved it.
No problem. Be well. =)
Has anyone used this yet please post a link to your network if you have so others can see it in action.
Awesome!! Thank YOU! :D I run The Society of Bearded Gentlemen @BeardedGents.com and I too have members from all over the World and this is wonderful! http://beardedgents.com
Glad you Like it Gary! Next time you do a smiley you should do it like this :)>
Now I haven't heard any feedback yet from my members, but I've tried it in German and it's flawless! or how about like this - :-)>>>> !!! or :-{
Here you go beard and mustache :-{>>>>>
LOL thanks gabet123! Hey, I've started getting complaints about the Translator bar...that it runs in a bar at the top of the page and they have to 'x' it out on every page they go to...anything that can be done about that or is that the way it is?
It will remember what you told it to do and it will try to maintain the translation across all pages. You can make it stop by clearing your cookies. There is a good program for that called ccleaner you can get it from download.com This will log you out of your site though. So for now I don't have a soution other than that. I guess if they want to use it they need to be sure first because unless they clear their cookies it will continue to do it.
Gary,

I run an international web site, and I have not found automatic translation to be "flawless". In fact, in my experience, it is not adequate for actual basic web pages. People who use automatic translation need to understand that the automatic translator is no better than about 3 years of study in the foreign language, so it translates from the foreign language into your language, but with flaws, not without flaws. People knowledgeable in the content being translated can then clean up the translation and make it acceptable to people who are not interested in dealing with the Tower of Babel. Thus, I am more interested in using machine translation to assist me in translating my site.
