Greeting everyone,
I run a site called HODINFO I have many members from other countries and have been looking for a good translation service that will continue to translate between pages of my site. Attached is the code required to make this happen. All you have to do is put a text box on the right side of your network so that it will appear on all pages. Then click the attachment below called googletranslate.txt right click and view source then copy and paste the code into that text box via the html section and hit save. Viola you now have google translate on your network.
Update 06/26/2012 just use the code between the lines.

<div id="google_translate_element"></div>
<script type="text/javascript">
function googleTranslateElementInit() {
new google.translate.TranslateElement({
pageLanguage: 'en'
}, 'google_translate_element');
}
</script><script src="http://translate.google.com/translate_a/element.js?cb=googleTranslateElementInit" type="text/javascript">

Permalink Reply by ANGIE on May 1, 2011 at 1:00pm hello, i just used this text, i had to change the en to gr in your code
now i can translate...but some words are still in Greek
and if i change page i have to select translation again
What i have also to do?
Hi Angie,
I am not sure can you post a link to your site so I can look at it?
Permalink Reply by Marcelo Rodrigues on June 25, 2011 at 3:15pm This solution appears to be good for me. But before I try it, I would like to ask something.
The translator will recognize the language and translate from it to any other language? This is important for me, because I do not want simply translate the content from portuguese (our language), to english. I want allow multiple languages interaction.
For example: If I have a topic with posts in 3 different languages, english, portuguese and spanish. If the user choose "spanish", will the translator translate the english and portuguese posts, but keep the spanish? Or it will try to translate the spanish too?
So, the question is, I am allowing people from different languages to interact? Or just translating my content?
Thanks!!!
You would need to pick a standard language for everyone to post in like english. Then have it translate the content into other languages.

Permalink Reply by Daniel Daves on December 29, 2011 at 8:51am Hello http://kykeon.ning.com - I went out to your site on google chrome, and I didn't see any google translate on your page. I liked your site though.......awesome!! If you get a chance, can you tell me how you got the page counter at the bottom of your site? Love it!! We're trying to develop www.youthnetworktv.com and are novices...learning NING negwork. Thank you. ALSO - I'd like to get this google translate at the very top of my page, up by the SEARCH area at top of page.
Permalink Reply by Daniel Daves on December 29, 2011 at 8:58am Just a couple footnotes to help anyone having troubles.... I put the text box on right side at www.youthnetworktv.com and then I opened it to edit. I had to place the text under the HTML button. If you just pate it in the text box, it won't work. Click HTML and then place it in that box. It should fire up for you.
BIG QUESTION that I'm seeking the answer for: I want to put this google translate at the top of my site up by the SEARCH area. But I am not an RSS expert and don't know for sure where to place the code - so it shows up at the top. Anyone have any direct wisdom for me?? THanks!
