You must have seen professional look noise background design in youtube etc. Believe me or not it makes a difference. You can try this in any page background, as I have used it for body background and video gallery background.
Simply paste this code into Advanced CSS.
body {
background-color: #e5e5e5;
background-image: url("http://api.ning.com:80/files/Eos*fzvaFyOHATHpVP2p7Ln4D-xKlCDHEJpoQSs5URxTCSR47MArAZ3vQEgDHwOTONygkV3YPYBGUc1z4GS-yeTiMyx*imIF/noiseblack.png");
background-repeat: repeat;
}

Permalink Reply by Hadi Hosn on December 1, 2012 at 2:32pm Hi Bernard, been trying to get this working right on my site but no luck :(
Works fine for the header but not rest of site - check it out here: http://www.consultoclock.com/main
What am I doing wrong?

Permalink Reply by Hadi Hosn on December 2, 2012 at 4:17am Hey Bernard, can't get into the basic design functionality - I am using the Developer Mode and Getting out of that messes up my whole design.
I tried to find the code in the attached screenshot - but can't find anything with a 'canvas' reference so I looked for navigation background and things like that, changed to the noise background and previewed but nothing changed :(
Is there a code reference to the Canvas that I might have missed in the attached screenshot?

Well Hadi, I told you to check the background of outer canvas. You don't have to play with the code. Just got my network >Settings>Appearance > Customize>General> Then you will see the exact screenshot as I have posted above.
And just make the outer canvas background transparent.
Good luck
Permalink Reply by Hadi Hosn on December 2, 2012 at 5:02am Hi Bernard, what I'm saying is if I go into the area of my Design where the Canvas configuration is - I lose all my design settings and everything gets messed up. So I cannot get out of the Developer Mode without losing changes :(
Please see the attached screenshot - I have gone to the Canvas and there is a pic uploaded, if I take that out and replace it with the one you provided, it works but then I lose all the design configuration below :( Check it out.

I doubt canvas background image is blocking the body background.
Just remove that image from outer canvas background area and don't replace any images.
Delete it and save.

If still doesn't work. Give this a try: Use this code in advanced css
.xg_theme #xg {
background: transparent!important;
}
