Many of us Wibiya users (myself included) may not have noticed that the Ning Chat bar no longer nests itself below the Wibiya toolbar rising it up off the page bottom and wasting space while looking tacky.
This is another good reason to use Wibiya over Syska.
With this in mind you might just be happy re-enabling your Ning Chat and never-mind the rest of this tip... but... sometimes the Ning Chat hides behind the Wibiya toolbar therefore this tip is needed. (Don't know why it's sometimes above & sometimes behind the Wibiya toolbar).
In my case I have two sites meshed as one and this tip keeps everything consistently flowing nicely between the two. See: Surf Network
1) Log-in to your Wibiya account and click on the "Apps Market".
2) In the left column click "Enrich Content" then install "Navigation Links"
3) Under the Settings tab paste your Chat url (pop out the Chat to see it) into the "Link URL" box. If you don't know it then use: http://your-ning-site.com/chat/index/popOutWindowV4
4) Make any other changes while in the Wibiya "Navigation Links" settings page. Example, your own icon, etc.
5) Save and presto, there it is.
The sweet thing about this tip is that you can have multiple types of chat (and include your Ning Chat) with one button that pops up a menu for multiple chat rooms (like a video chat) to choose from.
See it in action at the Surfers Network.

Permalink Reply by Patrick Chappelle on July 16, 2012 at 8:58am I think this is one of the reasons I got rid of my Wibya bar, and stopped using any site bar for that matter.
Thanks for pointing this out here, Scott! This is a great tip.
Permalink Reply by Scott Bishop on July 16, 2012 at 4:09pm I was the other way around. I got rid of my Ning Chat because it wouldn't fit on an of the toolbars.

Permalink Reply by Patrick Chappelle on July 16, 2012 at 4:13pm Haha! Well before that, I got rid of my Ning chat because it was ugly. LOL
Permalink Reply by Phillip Brunelle on July 30, 2012 at 1:16pm Hi Scott - I have a quick question... after you added the chat option to the wibya bar, do you still leave the ning chat there, or take the ning chat bar off? Thanks - Phillip
Permalink Reply by Scott Bishop on July 30, 2012 at 2:12pm Yes, you still leave your Ning Chat on by going to your Features Layout and dragging the Chat to your footer.

Permalink Reply by Thiago Santos de Moraes on July 16, 2012 at 9:25am Yeah, this is a great tip, but it would be very productive if Ning and Wibiya had an APP for the Ning Chat.
I'm using the following to ensure my chat stays docked above my PunchTab footer toolbar. You will need to play with the height to find what works best for Wibiya
.xg_chat .xg_bottomBar {height: 61.5px !important;}
.xg_chat .xg_chatInput {height: 61.5px !important;}
