I love my site... but have a small Blog categories question...

Evening world

Before I head out to see Batman finally at the cinema...I've a quick question...

I'm running a indie game design contest from my site and its all going well.

I've asked that each contestant makes a blog on their development to benefit others and also so we know they are producing original work.

Is there a way to make a page so only the contest pages are viewable in a scroll down list. Rather than having them all mixed in with other blogs on general game design.

Ideally I guess each one could be tagged with 'totgb5' and that would mean its picked up by a contest blog list page.

Any thoughts would be great.

Hey SweetPotato, thanks for thinking of me and my code!

Glad it worked for you, Jon!

Best wishes to all,

"TJ"

Thanks TJ

That really is a great bit of code... I've book marked your site so will no doubt be back for me useful things in the future...

Cheers to you both.

Jon

Hi Jon,

So you could build in a blogging protocol through policy. I've seen it done and do it on my site. Basically you define how people are to use the blog module. Left to their own discretion, people will use blogs for any number of reasons. If your site is still in the early release phase, you might be able to institute the guidelines without much animosity.

Otherwise, you can categorize it. Not sure if Ning offers categories for blogs yet, but you do have at least one option in featuring. If you exercise a discipline to only feature these kinds of blogs, then you will find a page that lists just featured, and you can direct people to that page for your contest blog list however you like.

Best, Anthony
