The blog editor is rewriting my paragraphs and line breaks.

Permalink Reply by Lynn Fredricks on May 12, 2012 at 1:29pm I think there's a parallel bug to this here:

The editor is modifying/rewriting code. Ive been copy-pasting in html from a template for years now without any problem. Now the editor is inserting all sorts of crud.
Permalink Reply by Asil on May 21, 2012 at 8:56pm I recreate this on both my networks. And yes, toggling between HTML and Visual is adding extraneous HTML code. The more try to fix, the worse the formatting gets. Only fix I've been able to find is to hand code the HTML, delete the content of the post and then paste the HTML into the HTML window. Not a reasonable workaround for the users.

Any update on a fix for this please Eric?
Permalink Reply by Jeff Ribeira on May 14, 2012 at 9:19am Well it seems pretty clear that this is a universal issue and I'll add my voice of frustration to the group. I just discovered it on our site this morning. Extremely frustrating... Really hoping this gets fixed asap cause we're having to scramble to do some serious damage control and find annoying work arounds. Not cool. Any updates yet?
Permalink Reply by Eric Suesz on May 14, 2012 at 10:26am We're still working on this bug. It is a tough one, and we are still having trouble reproducing it consistently. Each report you've sent in to our support team has made a difference. So, thank you for taking the time to submit those reports via your dashboard.
I just heard today that something similar seems to be happening on Wordpress.

it's gone viral! :-)
Permalink Reply by Eric Suesz on May 14, 2012 at 3:57pm That's good to know, Hugh. I think they use similar source code for their text editor.

ha ha, think that might be lost on many of our US friends.
Permalink Reply by Eric Suesz on May 15, 2012 at 9:34am Not lost on me, although I won't dare to identify which one we might be in this metaphor.
(One thing to note about this shared text editor code (TinyMCE) is that we use a branched or forked version of that code. So, updates to that code don't occur without us making them explicitly for Ning.)

are we close to a solution or will this one go to injury time?
