The blog editor is rewriting my paragraphs and line breaks.

Permalink Reply by Ilkka Virjo on May 15, 2012 at 2:56pm I'm not saying that you aren't working on it, I'm just saying that the bug is making the service we pay for a lot less valuable right now. This should be compensated when you know how long the bug affected people. And yes, I submitted a report along with everybody else.
Permalink Reply by Lynn Fredricks on May 15, 2012 at 3:28pm Eric,
Maybe this is the obvious first thing you did, but how about rolling back to an earlier version of the editor? Has that already been tried?
Permalink Reply by Eric Suesz on May 16, 2012 at 9:49am I don't think we've made any changes to the text editor in many months, Lynn.
Permalink Reply by Lynn Fredricks on May 16, 2012 at 12:17pm Hmmm. Its not entirely self contained though, right? What about changes to libraries that might be underlying its functionality, such as PHP libraries?

Permalink Reply by Zahid Torres-Rahman on May 16, 2012 at 7:39am It's affecting our broadcast message too.
Permalink Reply by Eric Suesz on May 16, 2012 at 9:38am I still don't have a definite answer for you, I'm sorry to say. But, we're still working on it. I had issues with my Creators broadcast message last week that kind of freaked me out when I pasted it all in. By adding a few <br> tags I was able to fix my issue. May not help because I am not certain what the issue is for everyone, but this is what my issue was:
Permalink Reply by Peter Sorensen on May 16, 2012 at 11:18am This is happening for us as well. Basically, any time you italicize something it creates a zero-width space there so that it looks like the previous word and the italicized word are butted up against each other. Also, when we write out an article and add links - then hit preview - it changes all the code and inserts extra lines like so:
This is seriously no bueno - especially for any site that constantly adds numerous blogs every single day. This started happening last week or so, it is a very recent change. The problem is further compounded by the HTML Editor because when you go into HTML mode to fix these errors and then switch back to Visual Mode, it only jacks up your code even worse (why even have an HTML Mode, if the text editor is just going to automatically change our code anyway? Isn't the whole point that you are able to change the HTML manually?). So basically, the text editor is a major pain in the a** to use right now (especially for the few of our editors and writers who don't know much HTML).
Help!
Permalink Reply by Jorge Bravo on May 17, 2012 at 8:06pm I can report I am also having this problem. Just edited a blog post tonight and the spacing went FUBAR. In fact, I've been having it for days. I figured it would be gone by now, but I guess I was being too optimistic. Come on Ning, how many days does it take to nail this down?
Permalink Reply by Jeff Ribeira on May 21, 2012 at 6:59am Is everyone here still experiencing issues? I hate to sound like a broken record here, but can we get another update please? What are we going on now, week 3?
I completely understand that this is a complex issue, but I find it extremely surprising that this is still happening. Does this not constitute a code red, all hands on deck situation? This is by far the most damaging ning technical issue for us to date.
Permalink Reply by Kyla Fairchild on May 21, 2012 at 8:25am We are also experiencing the same difficulties. Haven't been able to update our archive pages for three weeks as everything reverts to double spaced every time we try to add new entries. Also can't edit members blogs for style as we always have or everything goes wonky with the spacing, bolding, formatting, etc.
Any idea how much longer til this is fixed?
Permalink Reply by Eric Suesz on May 21, 2012 at 11:10am Hey, everyone. Just wanted to give you another update about this text editor issue. I think we have it nailed down. We're doing testing on it in a testing environment. If we can confirm our testing, we'll be able to release the fix for this. Unfortunately, I can't promise it will happen today, but I am hopeful. Will relay more info as soon as I have it.
