I love the colours i think they are bright but not overwhelming and bold and the site has a very crisp clean look !!

I would maybe have added a cool little graphic or logo by the title but other then that GOOD JOB !!

I like the warm tones you used. 

 

My only suggestion for improvement would be some sort of nice graphic/header photo.  It's too white up there.  LOL  Otherwise, a very soothing main page.

I love the color scheme Carsten, but I agree with you and Diane about filling that white space with a graphic of some sort.

It's a very clean design. Very attractive, but I do agree with the other comments - there is a bit too much white to the right of the header image. Maybe make your image larger? I think a little more air between the navigation bar and leaderboard ad would be good too. I also have a cooking-related network, so I was quite curious to see your design. As for features, not sure why the lead item would be your members. I think content is king. Your members, unless they are Rachael Ray and Bobby Flay, probably are not a big lure to new readers.

I beg to differ, Jorge. 

 

I don't care what your network is about, your members are important.  And they don't have to be famous to garner a spot "above the fold".   Members like to see themselves front and center.  It's makes them feel noticed and more than just a number.  It's also a great way to recognize very active members (featuring them in the main page member module). 

 

Yes...content is king.  Without it you have no members.  But without happy members, what's the point?  It's a delicate balance.

How did you get the Box with google ads that is on the video, photos and blog pages? 

 

I'd love to have a header for those pages.
