Updated 8/6/12: IBroadcast channels can now be used in user profiles, blog posts, or added as a Video using the player-only embedding instructions below.
Updated 5/7/12: You no longer have to manually tweak the embed code to get the full player + chat... IBroadcast now generates both widgets for you automatically. See step 3
Dear Creators,
My name is Sam Rahimi, CEO of IBroadcast.TV - the video platform introduced to you earlier this week by Patrick Chapelle (see http://creators.ning.com/forum/topics/introducing-ibroadcast) - if you haven't read this thread, please do, as it contains instructions for setting up your channel on IBroadcast.
Briefly - IBroadcast lets you easily create and share your broadcast with the world. Create a playlist from anything on YouTube or any live stream on Justin.TV - and turn it into a synchronized broadcast just like ordinary TV (minus the commercials.) This allows your visitors to hang out in the chat room and socialize while experiencing the content together - and if you've got a Ning Network, you can now embed any IBroadcast channel along with the chat and social features in a page on your site.
Here's how...
1. Create an IBroadcast channel by going to http://ibroadcast.tv and signing in with Facebook. If you have YouTube videos shared on your timeline, your broadcast will be created automatically from these. To add more videos (pretty much anything on YouTube), create a customized profile for your channel, and rearrange your playlist, go to "Broadcast Studio" once you're logged in. You can use HTML in the channel profile if you wish to add links back to your Ning network or anywhere else.
2. (optional but recommended) - After customizing your profile, like and share the channel on Facebook using the buttons provided on the channel page...
3. Get the embed code by clicking the "Embed" button underneath the video player. Choose from a video player only (560x315; can be resized) and a full sized player with chat and social discovery features (800x900; fixed size.) Check http://anrdjunion.com/ and http://natewalker.com for examples of the player only; http://anrdjunion.com/page/a-r-dj-union-t-v, http://kingdomzx.biz/page/tv, http://hhiaclan.com/page/hhiatv-by-i-broadcast for the full player + chat.
Have fun, good luck, and I'm here to help out and answer any questions...
Cheers,
Sam Rahimi

Permalink Reply by the_real_macfly on April 28, 2012 at 2:21pm Very interesting. Who can access the chat of iBroadcast? Anyone who visits the channel page and has a Facebook profile?
Permalink Reply by Sam Rahimi on April 28, 2012 at 2:27pm Yes... anyone can log in with Facebook to chat in any channel.
Permalink Reply by the_real_macfly on April 28, 2012 at 2:57pm Thanks Sam! That makes sense.
I am testing the widget on my network right now. Everything seems fine.
Some quick first feedback from my side: my main issue is that optimizing a playlist seems to be a pain, as one needs to click a button just to move a video one rung up or down the ladder. Drag & drop would be much better. Otherwise, thoroughly good job.
Permalink Reply by Sam Rahimi on April 29, 2012 at 7:54am Drag and drop is coming in about a month's time when we launch a redesigned UI - I find the current playlist editor somewhat annoying myself. LOL. Send me a link to the page with the widget when you get it set up... I'll promote it for you on our page...

I took Embed code of my TV channel from FB and Embed it in my NING page. It works awsome.
Cheers
Hello Sam,
I am very much interested in your service and your post. For this to be a 100% move for me, I would like to see what are your capabilities with linking to UStream. I am not familiar with Justin.TV and will most likely not make the transition to that site. Does your company have a timeline in which to tackle Ustream integration?
Permalink Reply by Sam Rahimi on April 30, 2012 at 10:37am Hey... as of right now we do Ustream integration by request - just reply to this with a link to your UStream and we can set up a channel for you. We'll be rolling this out to users in the next 30 - 60 days.
Permalink Reply by Janettee McCrary on April 30, 2012 at 10:42am I have two issues - one, I'd love to be able to do this with an email account or at least a Facebook page, not my personal account. Two, I have a small resolution on my computer and there is not a scrollbar at the bottom to scroll over, so I have to make everything smaller (thus hard to read) instead. Can you add a scrollbar for those of us with smaller screens?
Permalink Reply by Sam Rahimi on April 30, 2012 at 1:02pm Hey Janettee...
Thanks for your feedback :)
The resolution fix is coming with the new UI also in 30-60 days...
As for alternate logins, we're definitely looking at allowing channels to belong to Facebook pages - you'd still log in with your personal account, but the channel profile would show it as being owned by the page, and you could participate in chat as the page. An email login is something we're not sure about - one of the things that keeps the IBroadcast social experience high quality and free from spam is that the channels are linked to real Facebook accounts... but we are definitely looking into ways for non-Facebook users to participate.
I agree.. I immediately changed my channel name to my Ning network's name from my personal legal name.. so it displays wonderfully on the player. But when someone clicks Like it posts to their FB page as my legal name, instead of my Ning network name which is the same as the channel name. Wish I could run this with my facebook PAGE instead of account..
Loving your service so far! Thank you!
