Are there plans yet to add the capability for members to add a network watermark to the images they upload to a ning network.
I am not talking about watermarking my images prior to upload. I know how to do that.
I am talking about having the ability for member contributors to add my network watermark to all photos uploads...either automatically or by selecting that option.
From time to time I post this question in hopes to find ning will finally develop this feature. It is badly needed for any network whose traffic comes from photo sharing. To increase that traffic we need to somehow protect the photos from piracy.
Copy prevention...something facebook has accomplished would help, but needs to be watermarked as well as anyone can still take a screenshot and crop an image.
Thank you,
Jeff

I've been asking for watermarking for four years. FOUR YEARS. ;-)
I just came back to see if anything has been done yet. Not that I can see.
Why can't we have the Network Icon added as a watermark to images? Watermarks have been on the media player for a very long time.
I have no idea why this is not an option. Particularly in the age of Pinterest... this is almost a requirement.
Permalink Reply by Jason Longdon on July 30, 2012 at 1:15pm I've started creating a singles network and this would indeed be very useful! I really don't have much else to add to this, but I figured the more views, comments, and attention this thread got the better the chances of bringing it closer to the forefront of reality.
Permalink Reply by Damien Hannah on November 25, 2012 at 12:53am I've got lots to add to this.
I have professional photographers turning away from joining my network, and the professional photographers that I have on my network, are ready to jump ship if I don't do something about copyrights, and photo protection. As one of my members so elegantly put it, it only takes one bad court case to end one's hard earned dream.
WE NEED THIS.
Now, ok, maybe Ning isn't giving it to us, so, what businesses or programs out there can work with Ning?
Can we design a PHP program that can be installed in our file managers, and than called to in custom code? This way we can give the option in their photo upload page to add the network watermark? I feel it would be best as an option.
We need to research online and find some company that provides a watermarking service for developing websites, as there are already a lot of photos uploaded to many of our sites, so we'd need to maybe backlog or something as well.
ANY HELP on this is needed ASAP, my members are gonna leave. I've come too far now to fail due to a stupid watermark.
Disable right click on every page, disable full screen view, and watermark. THIS is the best we can do right? We need to work on this diligently, as I'm sure SO many of us will benefit from this! AND KEEP OUR PROFESSIONAL MEMBERS!!
