Hey All!
I just completed my Ning site www.theconnectcommunity.com
I am curious to hear if anyone has implemented SSO, pairing their Ning site with another WebSite. If so, would love to hear how it went and what protocol you used.
Thanks!!
Alex

Yes.
Permalink Reply by Scott Bishop on December 13, 2012 at 12:06pm I mesh another website with my ning site for the social aspect without SSO.
Everything on my non-ning site doesn't really need to have signed-in members (My ning site is open to the public too). Although it would be nice if I could embed a ning comment box, like a widget, that would auto add the comments to the latest activity on my ning site. This widget was something I asked for a couple of years ago and Ning said they'd get around to it.
There are certain pages that I wanted only signed in members to view (like my beach webcams) that were on my non-ning site so I duplicated it by creating it on ning, checked the box for "Signed-in Members", then 404 redirected the old page to the new ning page.
The only way you can tell you've switch to a different site is by looking at the url. It's either going to say www.surfer-shot.com or www.surfershot.com as you surf through it. (excuse the pun:)
