Calls to membership services don't help.  After building the #1 history and literature website in Western North Carolina (TheReadonWNC.ning.com), I discovered my website was down.  Why?  Apparently I hadn't paid (though my account showed a credit).  So I paid (figuring I could resolve the $ issue later).  I was told 6 to 8 working days for getting back up, which I thought was long.  Now 7 weeks and additional calls and emails later, I'm still down.  What's up?  What to do?  I'm losing business.

  • Oh man, 7 weeks?  That's not good.  Things can only be put back up after a brief period of time.  idk what the length of time is but you better keep calling and calling.  Realize the new owners inherited the problem and did not create it.............but yes, I'd be extremely concerned right now.  Oh man, good luck!!!

    • Thanks!  What do you mean, things can only be put up after a brief period of time?  I have no way to contact the tech or admin people, only billing in India, and those folks can't say anything except, "yes, you're paid up," and "your request has been escalated," by which, I think they mean expedited.

      • I remembering seeing an old post where (old) Ning said things can only be 'restored' after so many weeks off of their servers.  That makes it even more difficult now b/c I think the new buyers changed servers.

        I'm not 100% certain.........

        Why don't you post your plea there just in case.

    • Yes, I discovered, after checking every day, that my network went up Dec. 2. That's great news!  After 2 months with no one to talk to about it, I had given up.  Thanks!

  • Rob Whew!  I'm soooo glad for you!  Thank you Kyryk for coming to the rescue.  It's tough running websites with no interaction from the parent company.  You've been a breathe of fresh air.
