I am in the process of migrating my main website to Wordpress and I am looking for a way to integrate my Ning Network into my wordpress site.
On a search I came across some really old posts about a publishing plugin (which doesnt provide enough functionality for me) and there was even one about Ning ID Single sign on, but all of the links are no longer working.
I need some integration for this or I am afraid I may have to leave Ning to do a buddypress or wpsymposium installation. I would really prefer to keep Ning if I can get it integrated into Wordpress.
I have a couple of forums outside of my main website, and my main goal is to have my full community under a single sign on. Right now my website visitors are having to sign into 3 or 4 different places to participate in my community.
Is there anyone that has done this that can show me some examples of your site or tell me how you did it?
Or does anyone have any ideas that might help me. I really dont want to leave Ning and have to deal with the exporting of members and content, plus I am really loving the direction Ning is going these days!
Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.
Great question, Dana. We'll try to rustle up some suggestions for you. I now that there are a number of NCs who do this, and I think it's a great idea if you are a big-time blogger in particular.
I am very interested in this discussion as well.
I'm interested in finding out about this as well. Like you I did research on it awhile back and kept hitting dead ends.
We did this on our network and LOVE it. It allows us to post in Wordpress and have it automatically show up on the NING blogs on our site. We just feature them to get them to the main page. It's saved a lot of copy and pasting.
It is a one way street -- WP -> NING, never the other way.
If you're looking for more, this plug in isn't for you.
Glad to hear this is working well for you, Susanna!
So where can we get the plug-in? thx!
From the place where we keep our official documentation: the Help Center.
Thanks Eric...but there is still no link to the plug-in.
I am having no trouble downloading it. The plug-in is downloadable directly from the article itself, located here.
I get all the way to generate access token and I keep getting "null"
I've entered everything...double checked...and still can't receive access token.
