Something has happened to my network in the past two weeks or so.

Can anyone comment as to the problems being caused when members go to add photos, comment, etc., using Internet Explorer?   Things have escalated to a point the past few weeks where I can hardly keep up with my member's problems.   I ask them what browser they are using and over half say Internet Explorer.  So, I ask them to go to Firefox and then they say they have issues with the plug-ins.   One of my members no longer sees the words "comment back" when she sees a comment on her page.  I have no idea what to tell her.  Others can't add photos, or comments or see groups anymore.

I am going to call NING or send in a Help Ticket, but maybe others are having these issues and have found a solution?  Since I use a Mac, I don't use IE so I am unsure if it is Microsoft not being compatible with NING or any new scripts that were added to NING or what.

I use Safari and Chrome and have not encountered these types of problems myself.

Thanks!

check out this discussion for a tip or two......It isn't just on Ning, there are alot of sites that have issues with IE
Oh thank you so much.  I didn't see that discussion at all.  At least I know it isn't just my network.  I am emailing everyone to let them know about the "compatibility view" on IE.

Oh, this is a really sore point with me.. i try and tell my members that IE is just no good but they dont believe you. My site is terrible on IE, no flash shows at all,( chat, photo's) and i think someone was saying that flash player doesnt run on 64 bit machines, although they might have updated that by now..

people seem to think because it is bundled with all windows machines that it must be the best, when in fact to me at any rate, its the worse one going. i hate it, always have done, its the worse one to build a website for. all other browser work on my site lovely, but that one.. nightmare......

Claire,

Just link them to a google search return of "IE sucks"

LOL!

better yet, do it on an MSN search, so people can't argue that google only sorts that to make Chrome look better.
At least I know it is IE.  Of which I have always thought was the worst browser ever.  YUK  Thanks!
I had problems  when I used IE9. Flash simply did not and would not work. My solution was to revert back to IE8 and I made a little post on my site to let members know that the the site would not work with IE9.  Some members also reported simular problems while IE9 was installed even when running an alternate browser.

For some new reason I'm continuously logged-out when I use IE8 on XP.

It started 2 weeks ago.

Help Ticket answer: Erase all cookies, all browsing history, clear cache.

Which translates to "we have no idea."
Manually deleting all cookies with "ning" in their title was enough to fix my problem.
