I was going to wait until I had it installed on my site, but I could hardly contain my enthusiasm. Last night I discovered a streaming service called iBroadcast. It's a free service that allows you to broadcast not only Youtube videos, but live streaming! You can customize your station (which is currently limited to a few functions), and it comes equipped with a commenting system where you can see your viewers and chat with your audience.
So what's so awesome about it, you may ask? Well, aside form being free, you can add it to your Facebook business page. What makes it more appealing is that you can embed it into your Ning network!
Earlier this evening, I contacted one of the developers of iBroadcast, asking if there was any way iBroadcast could be made more Ning friendly, I hope to hear back from him soon.
The first time I visited the site, I was so excited at the possibilities, I completely missed the "how to" section. Here's how it works:
If you need help with something, or are just looking to introduce yourself and your station:

I think iBroadcast is the best solution for businesses like franchisors, tour operators, hotels etc.
BTW. thanks for sharing it Patrick.

This is true especially if you don't have the funds to host at UStream. The ability to not only add a iBroadcast tab to your Facebook page, but also add your on iBroadcast stand alone page has many possibilities for those of us who utilize Facebook to draw in members to our Ning networks.
Thanks Patrick
I'll keep an eye on your feedback about this....
I've had a quick look, isn't this just like Ustream?

Permalink Reply by Patrick Chappelle on April 22, 2012 at 9:16am There are several ways this is different that Ustream which I've outlined above, not the least of which is that it's free.
If you wish to do just audio, that can be done as well. There are many who use Youtube (or other video service) for their audio. I didn't quite get that's what you were looking for in your discussion. My apologies for the misunderstanding.
