Hey All,

I attempted to update my profile picture, but was redirected and told that my birthdate is invalid. Unless you guys have gone 18+ only, my birthdate should not be considered "invalid." A member trying to sign up for my site about an hour ago had a similar problem.

I additionally tried only updating information and not my picture, but the same error popped up. Is anyone else experiencing this on their "My Settings" page?

Thanks!

EDIT: I was able to change my picture here on Creators without an issue.

There must be a problem with the profile settings. I went to update a phantom profile I use on my network, and after changing the information and saving, the old info was still there. I had to do it again before it took.

Whew, thanks for that. I had no idea that they added that. I can't blame members for not putting their "real" age (my facebook dob is slightly different than my real one is well), so that option is gone. I'll try the profile update once I get on a computer. Thanks again, folks!

Hey Kat!

I just tested this by changing my name on my test network, and everything worked fine. Have you changed the minimum age on the Member Controls page (/main/membership/controls)? And you're sure that the age you were saving was the minimum age?

If you hadn't changed the age and your age of choice was above the minimum, you shouldn't be seeing this issue.

I ended up having to disable the "require real birthdate" or whatever it was called. I had not known about either feature and therefore did not change anything about either of them until after md responded to this post, which was after I was trying to update my profile on my website.

Basically, I have my facebook connected to my account on my site. I used a birthdate that was several days away from my real one on my facebook account, so the two did not match up. After this feature was enabled (which I was not aware of), I was attempting to update my picture. However, I could not save any changes because my "birthdate was invalid." I posted this forum and was told that it was due to that "require real birthdate" feature, so I disabled it on my site. Everything is back to normal now.

@kat I think it may be fixed - try switching it back on and testing it...

Hi Evan,

I turned off the birthday requirement and people were able to sign up. I set the minimum age to 18 for my network. Before this, no one could sign up. Wasn't aware there was even a problem until one lady tried over 20 times to create an account. LOL!  WOW...  she's patient.

I created a phantom account and it went straight in.

Thanks!

Hey Teriann!

We found a bug that was preventing some new members from signing up and showing an "Invalid birthday" message. This has now been fixed, and I apologize for any inconvenience!

/Evan
