Hey, Heidi! By coincidence, I am actually using my iPad right now. I took a look at your site, and it looks pretty good. of course, the Photo player doesn't show up fully because the iPad doesn't support Flash. If you have any suggestions for how we can improve things, let us know. We're currently working on a new mobile interface, and we'r always open to suggestions.
Eric, thanks for the quick reply. The drop down menu does not work on the tabs so you can't select sub tabs. Also when you are writing a comment like this one for example. You can't scroll down or have the formatting features. So if you write a blog for example and place it on the site but want to edit it you can't because you can't access the whole text. Since the language editor does not show up you can't put in links.
Thanks. Let me know how things progress.

Ah, I see the tabs issue now. Yeah, some of these details won't work on all mobile devices. So, you are totally right about that. It's kind of a combination of us needing a more robust mobile version to satisfy the many multiple mobile types of devices there are already (which we're working on) and Apple sticking to its guns about not supporting Flash. What would be really great would be an iPad Web version. I've seen some examples of sites that do that, although to be honest they are kind of lacking when it comes to replying or commenting features.

I hope you'll be happy with our upcoming mobile version. I'm an iPad lover (and iPhone lover), so I'm looking forward to added options myself.

I'm actually pretty happy with my NING network on the iPad other then a few of the lacking functions...

any update on this?  Do we have a mobile version now?

Not a new mobile version. We're working on that now, Julie. I hope to have an update soon.

Do you think we will ever have the full operations on tablets as we do on computers? I would love to have the same capabilities on my iPad to add a new blog or forum with the chance to add a link, picture, video and more as we do on computers.
Still no progress? Ning development seems thin for a company that reports such a large user community...

No progress on what, Mr. admin? Did you read the most recent post from us announcing that the new m...? We've been reporting on the development of the alpha in this group for months.

Sub-menus from IPAD / IPHONE.  If you select the menu heading from the IPAD it pings straight off to the top level page of the menu with no chance to select submenus.  Meaning all sub-menu pages are out of access for mobile users.  Unless hard coded into top level pages of course.

Alpha version does not seem to solve this problem either.,

Suggestions for a work-around?

We haven't tackled this type of detail (Web for Safari for iPad) because we're working specifically on the mobile version right now (/m). The iPad won't jump to the mobile version automatically, so yeah, the sub tabs won't be clickable as you would hover over the on the computer. But, this is a detail we might be able to change. Just haven't tackled it yet. We probably could make one push open submenu items and have the second one take you to location. I will suggest it to our product manager who is in charge of these details.

Thanks.  Seems like a huge issue to me for mobile as I would imagine most sites use sub-menus.  Even looking at the alpha (/m) it seems like most of what is hidden in submenus will be missing...  Not much point in a mobile version where you cut out a large percentage of the functions your users are used to.
