Is it possible to duplicate a feature, say a Blog to be used as a Quote of the Day?

Hi:

I wanted to create a quote of the day and then have people comment on it from the home page.  It seems that if I could create a second Community Blog (what I call mine), then rename the title to Quote of the Day, then we could plasce inspirational quotes there for people to enjoy and comment.

It would be one more thing that people would look for.

Will that work, or do you have another solution that worked for you?

Thanks Bob. That is what I thought, but was hopeful!

If you get a chance. would like feedback on my new site.

You can't replicate the feature, but you could use tags and a tab to have specified posts display. For example, all of Eric's Best of Week digests are tagged with "best of week" and can be found here: http://creators.ning.com/profiles/blog/list?tag=best+of+week

Yeah - he could grab the RSS feed, as long as the content is public, to feed into the main page.
I love this idea, Richard. I think if I wanted to do something like this, I would create an eye-catching text box with a great quote followed by an intriguing comment (with the member's avatar image if possible) with the call to action for people to visit the special quote page and drop their own comment into the mix. So, essentially a promo ad for your feature. If I had time, each day I would pick a best comment. Then, I'd update that promo regularly with the "best comment." To me, the key to getting this type of feature to work is to encourage the best comments.

Ideally, you might want people to enter their comments directly on the Main page, but the Main page isn't set up to be a place to enter comments. So, I'd focus on creating a great promo ad to spotlight your feature, which always lives in the same place.
Understood. I'm just trying to offer an alternative way based on blog post tags like Laura mentioned (http://creators.ning.com/profiles/blog/feed?tag=best+of+week&xn...). Group discussions could be another way to organize this content.
I would copy/paste the information from your blog post, then use Google Friend Connect. They have a commenting widget that you can add. I know it isn't connected with Ning, but I actually found that you can allow anonymous comments (or not, if you don't want to) and they can choose to login if they want.
