Is their any way for an Admin to change a members email address or password?

I know that the member can change both of these themselves, but the scenario I am struggling with is that I have two members who no longer have access to the email address that they originally joined the community with.

So if they reset the password via the login page, then new password will be send to the email address that they can no longer access.  And of course because they don't know their password, they can't log in to change their own email address.

Usually there is a way for an Admin to change some things on a members behalf (for example, I see that an Admin can change a users profile picture).

Anyone have any success doing something like this?

I've got exactly the same problem???

Did you solve it or did ning have to do it???

The admin rights on Ning are pretty poor i thing compared to most other apps like wordpress where you can easily change these things ...

... and we are still waiting for a "recurring events" button ... so still having to enter everything manually each week ... plus we are bl**dy paying them for this now!!!! :-(

No, I was not able to solve it.

I basically just sent the affected members a new invitation to the community.  Their old profiles are still sitting there.  Kind of annoying.

Any updates on this?
I waiting for results on this as well...I have a member who needs to change their email addy...does she have to delete content and then reapply??

Interesting.  I now have the same problem.  I wonder if there is a way to do this now that it's 2012???? Any progress??

It's deeply embarrasing to have to tell a member I can't "just change the email" for their account. It weakens our position as NC's or administrators, making us look helpless.

I have the same issue. Need to change a member's email address. Any solution to this...?

I also have the same need and I wonder if there is someone from Ning looking at this bug?

Still no solution to this? ... surely it should be a standard function by now! It is a real requirement ning ... come on !

Yes, very disappointing. I'm sure we've all lost members due to this major flaw in the platform...

Admins don't currently have the power to change a member's login credentials. If an administrator reaches out to our support team, we will manually reset the password. I can see how cutting down the steps here would be helpful, but it's not something our product team has on the table right now. Appreciate the input here. I'll add your feedback to the feature request on file.

Thanks for jumping in Allison. Can you understand how it makes NC's look powerless and incompetent to our members? We have to reply to them and tell them it may take up to a week to change their password because we can't do it ourselves, and that there's no way we can change their email.

This is a hangover from the days when it was one login for all ning networks. Now that each network is separate, we desperately need the ability to quickly help our members when they get locked out of their account because they can no longer access their registered email address. Members lose interest if they can't get access quickly. For example the discussion might have closed, or the job might have been filled. And it can take several days, if the member reports it on a friday...
