Is there any way to separate the social feed from site activity on the activity feed?

There is a lot of activity from Twitter on my social feed (a new post every 5-10 minutes). It's all relevant to my site and exposes members to like-minded Twitter users who they can follow directly from the feed with @anywhere -- so the heavy feed activity is actually perfect...but I would very much like to separate the social feed from the site activity feed. I'd love to be able to replace the "top news" tab with "site activity" and the social feed with something like "from the web."

Here's the activity feed live, so you can see what I mean. The site news is quickly drowned out by Twitter posts.

Is there some way to enable this that I've missed? If not, can I make the suggestion?

I've seen networks use RSS feeds for this. They just add all the different URLs to the feed and post it as a live update. It takes some work, but it gets the job done pretty well.

Right on, that's definitely one way to go. I might play around with that. Thanks for the suggestion. :-)
