The moment that many of you have been waiting for is just around the corner. Creators 3.0 will be launching at Noon PDT on Wednesday, May 7th.
We're really excited about launching our flagship customer community on Ning 3.0. To make the transition as smooth as possible, here are a few things you should know.
What to Expect:
We may make Creators inaccessible between 11am and 12pm tomorrow to allow us to perform a final top-off. This isn't typical of migrations; we're just choosing to do this because of how active Creators is and to give it the best opening on the other side.
Since text boxes for profiles have not yet been developed for Ning 3.0, the text boxes on your profile and the content in them will not migrate over. You should save this content if you'd like to be able to add it back in further down the road.
Once the domains are switched and Creators 3.0 is turned on, you'll have to log in again, even if you were already logged in to Creators on 2.0.
Things will look a little different, but we'll be providing information about how to find the features you used to use. We'll also be providing a place for ongoing feedback on Creators 3.0. While we're starting out with a pretty close replication of Creators 2.0, we may look at doing some more redesigns further down the road.
What to Look Forward To:
The relaunched blog feature will open with our first Migration Story: an interview with Katie McKay of GirlRiders.
The recording of our Migration Demo and Q&A will be available, along with a follow-up post with resources and some questions we couldn't answer during the hour.
Reinvigorated Groups for you to participate in. Group Administrators are planning some great things for their Groups.
For NCs not familiar with Ning 3.0 yet, you'll have the opportunity to see it in action and learn first hand how to explain this change to your members.
Edited to add note about text boxes not migrating.
