I just visited a site which has a page which states: "Connect Your Social Media Accounts"
They are still a FREE site, yet, they have a great page and a very nice email marketing campaign encouraging all their members to connect all their social media sites.
Those of us who're paying fees to keep our communities here on Ning HAVE GREAT communities but, wouldn't it be GREATER STILL if we had such a feature on all our Ning|Glam sites?

It appears that I made a mistake in assigning the above exclusively to Like2Link. After loading the YouTube app which shows the same sharing options, it appears that the above is from Ning and not just from Like2Link...

This is a bit hacky (not entirely happy with the code but it does the job) but it basically looks at your profile questions and recognises that one of the answers has "twitter.com" in the answer, then removes the question with the word "Twitter" in it and styles the answer by making text transparent and the background a Twitter button which appears clickable:
<script type="text/javascript">
x$(document).ready(function() {
if (x$('.module_about_user dl dd:contains("twitter.com")').length > 0) {
x$('.module_about_user dt:contains("Twitter")').css('display', 'none');
x$('.module_about_user dl dd a:contains("twitter.com")').css({'background':'url(http://api.ning.com:80/files/P5R5pjasN4w87airh*6bBZnp3afEruwz2Qcs9VH7lGe28nP5nhgzx8YqIQSGk1Bz4B5G6YrUA2EI6TCvuCIMH9aia5VGO4iK/twitteraccount.png) no-repeat','color':'transparent','padding-bottom':'6px'});
}
});
</script>
Looks like this

Feel free to modify for other questions.

Permalink Reply by Eric Suesz on June 18, 2012 at 4:44pm Just wanted to weigh back in, Vincent. I will suggest this to our product team and advocate for an increase or prominence in outside links for profile pages. However, three caveats or points that I think might be important:
I hope SweetPotato's hack will work for you. He's good, as you noted.
Eric,
SweetPotato's hack looks AWESOME! I'll definitely try it on Brandergy.
Ignoring the other sites for the moment, About.me has it just about right with the way they let members display links to their key social media profiles. I'd LOVE to have something like that available for Brandergy.
Whenever it's implementd on Ning, perhaps those site owners who don't want outbound links will be provided the opportunity to shut the functionality off???
By the way: I've favorited your About.me profile and followed you on Twitter from, there...
Keep STRONG, Eric!

I have 3, railway (sorry Railroad to my American cousins) related websites and what to know if I can link them with one login. Can my 1,300 members of one site, log into either of my other 2 like it is one site?
