Did you forget to send a card this year? As the world becomes more digital every day, it's easy to forget about that old standby of the holiday season: the holiday greeting card. But, as you no doubt know, there are plenty of wonderful online services that let you create a unique, compelling, funny, or heartfelt holiday greeting.

If you haven't sent anything to your community yet, consider trying these:

Jibjab.com lets you make funny videos with faces of your friends. It's not free ($1/month), but it's pretty high quality. We made one for you from the Ning Advocacy Team:

  • Punchbowl.com are classy, well-designed and thoughtful. Add your own photo for a small fee if you wish.
  • Hallmark is pretty much the name in greeting cards. Makes sense that they would (finally) bring that focus to the Internet. Again, not all free, but some are.
  • CardsThatGive.org is a thoughtful way to show your support for great causes.
  • If you have a biting sense of humor, hipstercards.com will surely fit the bill.
  • Someecards is another service that has a cynical take on current events and holidays. Scrooge-worthy!
  • Picaboo and Mixbook are fancy services if you're really feeling generous.
  • If you just want something free and easy, try American GreetingseGreetings, or 123 Greetings.
  • Our NingBot holiday card maker from last year is still chugging away making cards for communities.

What do you use? I am betting you have a lot of great ideas. Please share your favorite holiday card making service so that others who may not have sent anything yet can do so this week.

Someecards.  Major win.  Thanks, Eric.   :-)

We have been doing Jib Jab the past two years... sooo much fun!

Personalize funny videos and birthday eCards at JibJab!

I use Jackie Lawson, great cards.   I sent this one, by message and also its on our main page slider. http://eflclassroom.ning.com

The nice thing about it - members can email a return greeting. Really cool and I got some great testimonials.

We also have a flash gift giving page. Members give gifts right on the page and message thank yous...

Great post, too bad I haven't read it before I thought about making mine...However, this year, I wanted a community-based Xmas card to 1/ be consistent with the spirit of a community website 2/ animate the community 3/ get some more traffic. So I imagined a "Xmas'11 Greetings wall" where all my Members could post their own greetings in the spirit of Xmas.

If you're wondering what it looks like, have a look here.  I hope there will be dozens of cheerings! Let's wait&see, we have a few days left before Xmas...

Well I use Plaxo http://jimalleniii.myplaxo.com/ eCards online and it is a great contact list updater. http://ecards.plaxo.com/ecard/  Merry Christmas to all

You can find beautiful e-cards at the following website:   http://www.jacquielawson.com/

Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year to all, with Love and Light, Dorothy

Merry Christmas to all of you.

Greatings

Another Cool idea is the app called Ortist Scrapbook... draw Christmas cards for your network and have them draw their own.
