Is there a problem with Ning and Facebook? A member alerted me that links to my network from my Facebook page were being blocked with the following message:
SorryI checked another Ning network I know that runs a Facebook page and they seem to have the same issue.

Permalink Reply by Stygo Alphamatt on June 15, 2012 at 1:36am I have come across this earlier last week and now after readin' it again, i think that the story is overblown.
Fact is that fb increased their Security measures and it caused a lot of headaches to many, Fact is also that
fb is tryin' to get more hold of the social Market hence their Stock ain't goin' good as expected.
Rumor is that they are payin' Symantec to take the blame for the lie. Fact is that some Antivirus has been showin' some fb scripts as malware. This is not new, Symantec , Avira & AVG are the ones that are more likely to show you such warnin's. That's why i finally decided to use Zone Alarm from Zone Labs.
Zone Alarm, kaspersky & Norton don't give much of that warnin', but sometimes i could happen.
Take a look at the post i posted on page 33 of this thread. I used fb script to subdue the length, so i can have the page my hhiaTV powered by Ibroadcast on fb longer as usual. This was an fb script. and it worked all this months good, but then as the security measure was increased fb also flagged it own script as malicious^^. My TV page was looking so bad that i wanted to take off the subdue script and use normal fb length. I gave it more days before i finally decide.
Now everything is fixed and working fine again. Don't let overblown stories get you panicky. No matter what happens, just give it some days before you make your move. The problem we had here with ning links bein' blocked has nothing to do with framing, but either because of the increased security or that really some Ncs bugged Fb users and they reported.
I have also pointed to the problem about one of the widgets in Wibiya bar, where the function is misleading. You can post anythin' from your network to fb usin' thsi widget and you are asked to add as much friends as possible, and the Instructions are like it will deliver the post to each friend, but no way, when you post, it just trigger a conference conversation with all the friends you included and many friends on fb are not that close, so the rant and even some report to fb and hence the link you posted is a ning link, it falls back on all of us here in Ning. Like i said i noticed it almost 7 months ago, i was lucky i added on few friends and the one i know personally, and it was a hell of job to let everybody know how they can leave this conference cos most don't know. Since then i took Wibiya off my Network or at least this widget.
Enable users to easily share the page they are viewing with selected Facebook friends and groups as a message, wall post or email in just one click
This is the widget am talkin' about and it seemed to be provided by fb itself only most fb users don't know how to leave the conference and if you don't leave you will getting every convesation as feed and also posted to you Email and most fb user freaks out b'cos of that. Why i left Wibiya bar has other reasons but mainly because i found Jen's sticky bar/footer more simple and easier to load.
So if you still using Wibiya bar or footer, pls remove this widget cos your visitors might be using it, thus causing a bad impression to your network, hence the link they post if from your network. It causes you direct harm and other NCs indirectly since we use shared IP.
Big up

Permalink Reply by Traddie on June 15, 2012 at 5:59am My links from FB seem to be working ok now. Is it safe to start posting to FB again or should I wait, because the last thing I want is the word "abusive site" to crop up again. A week without posting is seriously hurting me.
Permalink Reply by Eric Suesz on June 15, 2012 at 10:32am I think we're almost out of the woods, Traddie. We're working with someone at McAfee, and they are sounding pretty positive. I will update when I have an official "all clear."
