Is there a problem with Ning and Facebook? A member alerted me that links to my network from my Facebook page were being blocked with the following message:

Sorry

The link you are trying to visit has been reported as abusive by Facebook users. To learn more about staying safe on the Internet, visit Facebook's Security Page. Please also read the Wikipedia articles on malware and phishing.

I checked another Ning network I know that runs a Facebook page and they seem to have the same issue.

Sneaky, sneaky. LOL. But at least they offered to take a look. A little coincidental that everything is now cleared up. Perhaps they realized potentially paying customers were being affected and decided to rush it? It sounds like they need every penny they can get, so this probably became high priority.

I don't know about putting a "rush" on it, this nightmare started last week. I'm just glad it's over....

... for now... (insert evil laughter here).

Oh I meant from when he notified them...

Okay, everyone. We have been in contact with Facebook, and I am hearing that this may now be resolved. We'll be checking it out a bit more to be sure, but I wanted to let you know about a fix just as soon as I got word. If you still are having trouble with this, let me know and if you can provide a link that would be great.

One thing to note: I'm as yet unsure about short URLs continuing to be an issue that is separate from the Ning URL issue. Something to keep in mind as we hopefully wrap up this issue today.

Thanks for the update Eric! I'll keep an eye out and see if there's been any change, or if the problems persist.

confirming here as well.

Thank you everyone

Thanks Eric, appears to be working for us too!

Great news for all.

Thanks for the update Eric!

Links are working fine again.

It seems that the problem with McAfee is also solved.

Eric, I'm still having an issue with the short URL...same error message as reported on this thread.

Can you point us to the page?
