Dear all,

I just launched my website and discoverd a major problem, which is mentioned everywhere on the forum, but without any clear answers.

Internet Explorer 9:

I just invited a full database of new people to join, where I set that members have to upload a profile pic first, before they can complete.

But members can't upload their pofile images with IE9???? So they cancel because they can't continue with the process??? That is really killing.. And IF I would not set the option of uploading a profile pic, members can't even contribute pics in blogs, the forum and reactions!!! So there goes the social aspect??

Sorry for my rather straight and 'Dutch' direct reaction, but I just spent a lot of money on membership & design, time and effort on this, and I can't even launch the website! Up till now, I believe no one from Ning ever reacted on this issue? Can anyone else help me with an answer?

(I really hope I'm really stupid, I have this all wrong and I overlooked the solution somewhere in this forum.)

Love, the angry Dutchman

John,
Can you post a picture of this weirdness?
Thanks,
Patrick

John,

Did you put the members link in that page on purpose?

What else should or should not be in there?

Thanks,

Patrick

Yes, the Members link is there on purpose.

It's just that the welcome box is taller than it used to be and the states abbreviation list is shorter.

The spacing hasn't changed on Google Chrome browser.

John,

We removed the code that caused CSS issues, but your network looks the same to me. And I've looked at it in both Chrome and IE9. And they both look the same as your screenshot.

Can you post what you see in Chrome so I can see what the good version looks like?

Thanks,

Patrick

I wonder if IE's Compatibilty View icon (torn page) was grey or blue when you checked.

From Chrome:

This has always not worked for me either, if you try to upload any picture in the events, text box's or any where else bar the photo uploader in the photos section it always just sticks on the spinning logo while uploading. I always have to goto chrome or firefox to do this. Most of my members use ie8 or 9 even though I posted a forum post on my network regarding the problems of ie but most are reluctent to change as they have been using ie for a long time. It is a problem that does need sorting out, everything else work fine.
