Hi All,

I have a community and part of my use is that I create separate Groups for an 11-week course that I teach.  There are different Groups for each separate class of the course.

And, the overall community has people who do not participate in this course and so they do not belong to one of these Groups.

Here's my dilema. I am using a Page in each of these Groups to share content and links related to the 11-week course. This page also informatin for use by the students down the road.  But I am having to recreate this page for each subsequent class and then 'maintain' this page (with the same content) for each Group.

Is there a technique whereby I can maintain just one Page so that it can be viewed in each of the separate Groups for the different classes?

The only recourse I can think of is to create another 'umbrella' Group for all the students to belong to and a Page on that umbrella Group with this content.  The drawback there is that each person would have to bounce back and forth between their respective class Group and this umbrella  Group.  My strong preference would be that the Page be right there in the group were the discussions occur.

Hope this is clear.... I'd appreciate any help you all can be.

Dale

create a normal page, not in the groups, then link to it in the group description?

So Sweet,

OK.  I see how to make a new page..... but the only options are to make it visible to all members or to administrators.  I do not want the members of the Ning community at large, that are not a member of these groups, to have access to the page.

I think SweetPotato's got the right idea here. For greater privacy, you could host the page elsewhere (e.g., a Google Doc that's only available by private link).

Thanks... But the content on these pages are not just text.

They are external links AND other documents that are loaded on Te Ning server. :-(

You can insert links and images, too. Also note that if you create a Page, use a cryptic custom URL, and block it with a robots.txt file, members would only be able to access the secret doc by finding it at yournetwork.ning.com/page/page/list.

I don't think that is what she is sayin.... I just now see how to add a page
