So im re-writing this tip asfter realizing i was going off of flawed info

however you still can  double your income using the openx ad server

heres how create a campain set the cpm to that of adsence maybe a couple cents higher with the buy rate at that price

monitor and adjust  as adsence fluctuates but when it settles into a pretty predictable "norm"

compare that average cpm with the actual cpm your getting from open market (read the open market  row ignore the adseence row!)

now set your cpm base min buy rate at 1/2 way between

fron there on you should need minumal djustmenbts and monitoring

however both adsence and open market will taje a couple weeks to adjust

tip

the ecmp auto adjust feature only works on open x server not on the open source fversion on private servers

i replied in the other u can use anything at all

irs completeky unrestricted and  adaptable

rwallu=y it doesnt matter what u use cause that  few pennies wont matter

ad cents will seem  like nothijg

i made  1,500 dollars in the time adsence paid 17!

you might as well skip adsence and add a thank you fir dropping by banner instead.,k]lol

Hi Soaringeagle,
Are you sing the enterprise version?....is that the one you can use you own sever? I was wondering how much the enterprise version cost.

no im not im using open market source its free

i might look into open lift or open x enterpridse

kift sounds  more like what i need

although]im doing phenominaly well with the free version

175 an hour!

over 4 k expected today

my minds blown

i havent yet adjusted o this new readkity

So i need my own server to get started? Perfect! im in the market for one so if you can pint me in that direction first that would be great! I plan on running my network on my own server soon ;)

you dont need it but its highly recomended

i an help u there www.domains-names-registration.com

u dojnt want shared u want vps at least

i stepped up 2 levels to the higher perfoprmance  just to be sure

Nice! They have some really good deals but I perfer having my own cpu witht he same sort of storage and memory. Im having an imac g5 20" configured for me with a TB hard drive and 8 gigs of RAM, quadcore processor...do you think this will suffice? my ultimate goal is to archive my data on my site and upload these files to my own server so I can host my own site. Point me in this direction eagle LOL

8 gigs more then eniugh for a linux webserver but mac?

who uses macs as  webserver?

u want linux not mac

unles u want windows but only for aspx sites

macs are useless garbaf=ge especialy for web servers

i dont even know if thawy can be used fior servers

your better off with the vps

which is why this thread goes on! LOL I posted that because my knowledge on servers is as you described the macs "garbage" hahaha...so, I went to micro center and purchased an acer with 500gb hd, dual core processor and so on just for usage of sprucing up my network. I have an old g3 (in red) lol I use as an email blast to send out emails telling others about my network. I have a powerbook I use for typical browsing and I also have a dell laptop and a compaq...there are computers anywhere you can sit in my apartment LOL so my next move was just buying a server, I hear all these "great" things about them being expensive and etc and exspensive is great to me! Im not concerned of cost so i'll layout what im looking to accomplish so you can direct me to the right server to buy:

I want to take my data from ning and host the content on my own server.

Im in the process of putting together my network from scratch I suppose seeing as I dont plan on keeping ning as the host for my files.

Im looking at a few options but buddypress is sticking out the most. So in short, im taking all my content from ning along with my members and plan on moving my files to my own server. Clouds and renting are not a solution merely another option like ning. I dont want to pay for someone else to control my content it makes no sense at all and with my network not even 6 months old, Im blessed to have realized this early on.

di=o u have a super fast connection high bandwith dedicated ips

linux will run better with les power then the rest

u mentioned  the color of the macs macs are all flash..look pretty but  thats it nit a real workg[-horse  more like my pretty pony

i dont care much abiut style  1;2 the time my pcs  dont hace a case lol well the frames but the sides left off wires spilling out the sides  in fact hard drives hanging ot not even mounted in racks

id tell them what u want a linux web server u will want raid scso=i drives fir hot swapping and double reunency (1 drives backe=uped in a duplicate on the next so 1 faikes u pull it out and swap in a new 1  with no need to restore data)

also unless u know alot about linux and server config   running a web server can be a supreme headache withot a manged  serever   tweaking settings for best performance etc

i looked at bhuddypress as a nin g alternawte i  installed  uploaded the day=ta etc it just seemed so sloppy  compared to ning  i gave =up right away

I dont see buddypress as an alternative but actually BETTER than ning and in time im sure a lot of creators will! What i noticed here and overtime is if were sharing every little thing we add to our networks with a hub of similar creators you're never going to have any individuality on your site. Id join your dredlock forum site just because in reagrds to layout and design it has a lot that my current network has like the tab setup and all the cool css animations. So in the long haul its not going to get you where you're trying to go, also the buddypress pltatform looks way neater and more user accepted than ning. Im not sure when you tried it out but they now have facebook modules so you can customize your network like on ning but when a users there it feels like their using the largest social network tool out which is undenyably facebook. Its a reason ning doesnt have a lot of the things facebook has and a reason why companies like wordspress and buddypress do...if you're going to succeed at soemthing, model it after whats succeeded! Im going to buddypress no offense LOL but please do assist me with your server knowledge. It looks like a simply need a host to use buddypress which is why I cant keep giving ning $80 to control my network when in fact buddypress is a download so I dont see recurring cost, just for hosting but I'll have control over my network!
