Permalink Reply by Tyler Durbin on June 7, 2012 at 12:13pm I absolutely cannot STAND McAfee because it does stuff like that all the time.
Permalink Reply by pdanson on June 12, 2012 at 1:14pm This also happened to a Member today, no previous problems and it appears to have happened in exactly the same way. Resolved by spotting that IP address 208.82.16.168 was being blocked and Allowing it enabled NING to be accessed again. But why that IP address?

Permalink Reply by Writer Chick {Diane} on June 12, 2012 at 1:38pm It happened to one of my members too. She had to go in and manually make McAfee accept our site's IP address. And she'd been accessing it just fine for MONTHS. It just started all of a sudden.
Permalink Reply by Design Faerie on June 12, 2012 at 4:24pm we also have half a dozen blocked members--unreal!

Permalink Reply by Patrick Chappelle on June 12, 2012 at 7:18pm Same here, just the other day in fact. I also use McAfee.
Yup this has happened to several of my members over the past week.
Is this another issue like Facebook blocking Ning?
.....and btw, we seem to rate fine on McAfee's Site Advisor service.

Permalink Reply by Sharon Tomlinson on June 14, 2012 at 9:06am A fellow creator suggested that the latest flash version update 11.3 and Firefox 13 was causing the conflict. Can that be so? I'm not having any problem but use G Chrome and Norton. When she switched to G Chrome...no problem

Permalink Reply by TJ @ jQueryHelp on June 14, 2012 at 11:10pm Same thing just happened to me! I couldn't get on my ning site or creators. I had to open McAfee Internet Security, click Navigation, then Firewall, then NetGuard, then edit IP Address 208.82.16.168 and allow it. Thanks to pdanson for mentioning that IP Address in a reply here. I Googled "mcafee blocks ning" and found this thread with the mention of that IP Address. Of course I had to read the cached version of it because the live version was blocked! All is well now, but very strange!
