Hi, Ning Site Developers ?

I just wanted to say I have been using the new Categories/Badges at my teeny tiny little site, and WE LOVE IT! :)

This type of site is perfect for this type of feature.  The way I have used this feature :   It has provided members with a sense of participation, pride, & fellowship at our site.  It has also given us as managers/site creators, the oppurtunity to reward certain members for their particular contributions.  They are happy, and am I.

Thank you for your work on this new feature. I will share my first reaction to this in the first attatchment. The second two attatchments are two of our badges that we have in place now.

Hi Eric,

Yes, it has been great for us to use this new feature.  We are excited about it.  I can see much in our future having this option avaiable. Especially during the first year of my site being up and running. 

We already made it past our 30th DAY! YEA!  (2/12/12 to 3/12/12)   Thanks for being there for me as I was developing & getting accustomed to my new site.   LoL  It has been fun & frustrating, but I have made great gains thanks to your support & encouragement!

I cant wait till the next one come out! I will keep my eyes out.  thank you Eric

Hi guys,

I wanted to add that we LOVE the way it LOOKS!   When you look up a member, or a member looks up another member or friend, the Member Cat's appears in a line across the top of the page!  It is soo cool!  Looks classy.

We are having fun with this. I love it!  or, did I already say that?  ha ha   ;)

Hi! Did you happen to have any issues seeing the badge, when testing?  I am testing a site and added a test account to one of the groups that has a category badge and still not seeing it.

Hi JZ, no I didn t have any issue seeing the badges. But, it did depend on the person's profile pic. I had to try a few different sizes and colors of the little image I chose.  I also tried out the four coners of the person's profile pic square

it give you the chance to quick look at it, before finalizing or accepting the badge.  A friend had photo of a dog in thiers. But, where i placed the badge, we couldnt really see it that well.   so, while I tried the other four corners, and tried a slightly different badge image, they ended up using a different profile pic, of the same charactor/animal, and the badge fit perfectly!   I love this feature!

 

We just play around with it a lil bit, to see how it looks, and which corner to place it in.  Always keep the communication open, with the member/friend,and I let them know before I placed the badge there. This way, they were ready for it, and communication went superbly well. :)

I hope u can find some excellent badges that will work for your members and yourself JZ. I feel good about that you will.

Blessings to you, too, sister. Thank you. I appreciate the feedback. I am using a custom image and yet to see it apply to the profile pic. Do you have any badges setup using a paywall and category, by the way?

Hi JC, my pleasure.

I can show you the way I do my badges.  I have the mini site package. So, it may look different than yours?  But, I go into

Members/badges/list categories/

/add category/add badge/use image/

I choose use image and it gives me the chance to   /upload your own/     at that point.

Where is it that keeps hanging you up?   LoL   Do you have the same steps that I have to follow in your site package?

 

I will pop in a bit later and see how you are doing.  Hope u can get that puppy working. It is really cool feature! ")

this is what my steps look like.  It has been fairly easy to use. I have played with different images, and locations on their profile pic cube.

Thanks for taking time & energy out, Kym! I am all set. I use a custom badge and just had to do some tidying up in my members area and the paywall for a group, where I'm using the badge.
