Hi All

This tip inserts banner ads under the status update box on Ning mobile sites

Whilst waiting for Ning to reverse their policy of not allowing NCs to insert their own banner adverts across their Ning Mobile sites, I have come up with one possible workaround to give your highly valuable site sponsors a bit of eyeball time on your mobile site.

Go to your language editor and search for "Also post to"

Replace that with the following and then insert urls and image urls as bolded below:

<ul style="float:left;"><li style="border:none; margin-right:15px; list-style:none;display:inline;"><a target="_blank" href="http://www.URL.COM/"><img src="http://yourimage/image.jpg" /></a></li><li style="border:none; margin-right:15px; list-style:none;display:inline;"><a target="_blank" href="http://www.URL.COM/"><img src="http://yourimage/image.jpg" /></a></li><li style="border:none; margin-right:15px; list-style:none;display:inline;"><a target="_blank" href="http://www.URL.COM/"><img src="http://yourimage/image.jpg"/></a></li><li style="border:none; margin-right:15px; list-style:none;display:inline;"><a target="_blank" href="http://www.URL.COM/"><img src="http://yourimage/image.jpg"/></a></li></ul>
<br>
Also post to ...

Result

Hopefully more to come soon.

Enjoy

anyway to make this insert a google advert?

no, you can't put script in the language editor. but I think ning ads will cater for those, just not our own ads

Thank you so much for sharing, Khoai Lang-:) (Khoai Lang means Sweet potato in Vietnamese).

I'd always wondered what it was in Vietnamese, so cheers :-)

Very Nice Sp :-)

cheers Dave
Does this wok with only the mobile version or it can also be used on the desk top version? I think this similar towhat facebook does with introducing external websites in the update page.

The wording "Also post to" is only on the mobile version so it's only for that at present. If you wanted it on the desktop version it could easily be done using jquery.

Thanks SP. how do i do that on desk top with jquery then. Any tips for me?

another tip for another time, Kwaku. :-)
