Hey, Reid. Sorry to hear you're having trouble. Do you get any error message? Can you maybe point me to one of these blog posts that aren't approved? Also, if you want to submit a ticket, we can have someone take a look for you.
Eric, thanks for the reply. Where do I go to submit a ticket?
Here is the url: http://tcfir-blog.ning.com/profiles/blog/listForApproval
You can do that from the Support link on your dashboard. Then, click on Contact us. We'll try to get to the bottom of it.
Ticket submitted! Thanks for the help.
Eric, when I submitted the ticket the obligatory email was received. Since then there has been no further communication and the problem still exists.
This is what as I would characterize as crappy tech support!
I think I was able to find your ticket. A few things that I think are important here, Reid:
Your hostile reaction to criticism is but another example of "crappy" support. I assume from your comments that you are an employee of Ning and I am a customer. I expect some respect for my position. As you can see from my membership I am only one degree of separation from the founders of Ning and I can escalate the problem to them, if that is you choice. In the alternative, We can tone down the rhetoric and get the problem solved
I posted it to "Creators" to see if anyone else had the problem. At the time I didn't know it was something I was doing or a system error. As soon as you instructed me to make a ticket I did so; the written record shows that!
You are correct that the link I provided shows no item, but the item appeared on my home page and when approved did not register the approval. There was a posting waiting in my list as I wrote but now someone has deleted it. Post a test and I will try to approve it. That way you will know that there is something to approve.
Your suggestion to use a different browser is not useful because I use both IE or Firefox and the problem exists with both. I have no need for any of the other browsers. On the other hand you suggest dumping my cookies but that would delete all my retained usernames and passwords greatly inconveniencing me. If it is a cookie problem it is still a software problem on your end because Ning would have set the cookie.
I agree with you that a definitive solution cannot be found here (Creators). However this is a user community and my struggles with the problem should be interesting to other users. Despite the involvement of the tech service apparatus, as per the ticket you recommended, problems still exist.
BTW, I did try both Firefox and IE on 3 different computers and deleted the cookies on all to no avail. Oh well, I will deal with the issue through the ticket process.
I do appreciate your attempt to help!
Thanks for your urgent attention to this.
Thank you for sharing your experience. I am particularly grateful because Eric thinks I have been unfair in my criticism.
BTW, I like your blog. Please visit mine http://tcfir-blog.ning.com and join if you find value.
Hey, Kanti! Thanks for submitting a ticket. That's the way to go. One thing you might try while we are looking into this: the Approve All button. I would try that. I can see that Monica is still checking this out, so I appreciate your patience while we do some additional testing. Definitely seems like an odd thing to be happening. Also, I've added your issue to the bug report on this. So, hopefully, we can get this resolved quickly.
It has been 3 weeks since I submitted the ticket and Monica tells me your colleagues are looking into the problem. Can you advise me how long this will take to be resolved? I am under tremendous pressure from my site owners because the quality of the site content has gone down due to the fact that the editors have to approve all blogs, including the poor-quality ones, which normally they would reject. And, reading about this problem from other NCs, I understand it is not a single incident with my particular site, but is happening with a cluster of Ning sites. I will appreciate a more definitive answer regarding the timeline in which the bug is expected to be fixed.
