Kopper in 2012 Road Map i remember This Was Planned but unfortunately they not developed this Feature.
Its useful Feature regarding Group Forum And main forum.
I am also waiting for update on this
@ Ismail. This is still appearing in the 2012 Product Roadmap as 'planning it', and there doesn't appear to be a new thread for 2013, so its still in their hopper. However, the developers keep adding new stuff to the 'partially built' section and Eric advised (before he left NING) that "I wish that our team had been able to tackle this feature improvement, but it hasn't happened. I will go further and say that it may not happen at all."
That's where we are, Ismail. Something so basic and so needed, relegated to 'planning it', but with no movement at all to indicate that its seriously being tackled and the last official communication received being a very dour one.
Its tragic and unfortunate the NING developers appear to be so tone deaf to the needs of the community. I have to assume they've done some analysis and figure that whatever it would cost them to make this critical change just isn't worth it financially. Will they lose some websites because of this lack of basic functionality? Sure they will (and have). Will they lose enough business as to make the change a necessity? Clearly, they've determined they won't (or they would still be 'working on it').
Let's face it, guys, this is never going to happen. Tired of holding my breath in anticipation of this. I don't blame Eric for leaving, either.
That said, what are you guys planning on doing about this? I would LOVE to move my network off of Ning and onto a more responsive and better-designed host. What are our options, especially in regard to having a forum with more controls? Obviously, we need to also be able to easily migrate all content over to the new platform without losing members or data. Is this possible?
Still in the hopper. Would love to see this functionality added and will continue to advocate for it here.
kopper: Doug started a discussion about creating a migration plan not too long ago. And Josh added a link to some alternatives to Ning you might be interested to check it out.
Is the ANY progress on this yet?
