Once you pay for Ning Mini or Plus you will loose your music player.
Does anyone no of a good music player to embed on the Ning site front page (either the right or left side columns)?
If you reply with one that's on your site please leave a link for it.
Thx!

I have just had the following live chat with a Spruz representative (no long waiting for support either) and they can do a package with music player and video for less than the Plus plan:

Call accepted by operator Edvard. Currently in room: Edvard.
Edvard:
Hello, how are you today?
Jill:
Ok
Jill:
Have you got my question?
Edvard:
Great! The Spruz music player feature comes with all upgrades, with the base cost starting at $9.95.
Edvard:
The video uploading feature is an optional upgrade that costs $10 a month.
Edvard:
I should clarify that the $9.95 is per month, not year.
Jill:
How much would the total cost be per year for music and video and the rest?
Edvard:
Do you know how much bandwidth your site uses in a month? Our base prices are determined by that.
Jill:
We have less than 500 members at the moment. I do not know how much bandwidth though.
Edvard:
I'll give you the prices for both the $9.95 a month option and $19.95 a month option. One moment please.
Edvard:
The $9.95 a month option, which includes 20GB of bandwidth and 2GB of storage, is $191.52 for a year. The $19.95 a month option, which includes 100GB of bandwidth and 10GB of storage, is $287.52 for a year.
Jill:
Ok so I will need to find out the bandwidth and if it is within the 20gb I will ask our members if they want to swap to your platform to get music players back. Thanks Jill
Edvard:
No problem, was there anything else I could help you with today?
Jill:
I see you are doing a swap over for Ning networks. How easy is this to do?
Edvard:
The system isn't quite ready yet, though it should be done within a few days (if not today). I haven't tried it myself but the system will allow you to import the export file Ning can give you with a click of a button. I'd recommend staying tuned to our Owners' Community at www.my.spruz.com for more information.
Jill:
Ok thanks a lot. Jill
Edvard:
Alright, have a great day. Thanks for considering Spruz!

Try podsnack.com if this feature is anything like bannersnack, it is ridiculously easy to embed into your site. (text box)
Thanks Jill for that information. I think I need to find alternatives too. Sad very sad. All the work we've done for our sites. Will you stay in touch we me so I can follow up on this?
Yes I will keep in touch about this. Am still undecided what to do. I really didn't want the upheaval for our members of leaving Ning but I don't want them to lose their music player either. Ning seem bent on pushing us out really.
It is beginning to look that way. I've jumped through hoops to find a way to pay on a monthly basis and nothing works if you don't have a credit card. Maybe they are heading to co-opting sites that make money not just social networks.
I had a live chat with Spruz yesterday too and started a test site. I prefer to stay with Ning but they don't seem to have thought this through IF, and I say IF, they really wanted to keep all of the sites participating. Sad very sad.
I added a few options for folks who are looking for a music player in a new blog post last night. I expect other Creators will have even more suggestions.
I can see that hardly anyone is helping out here with any links. Other than Eric here. But, I still see nothing on a music player where we can have our own members upload their own music to the player we put up on the front page of our sites.

I don't even mind buying a player to put on my own sever and have it fed to the site. There has to be something out there that can do this.
It would be cheaper for my members and myself if I just use my own server.
If ning can do it. Where did they get their player or anything like it?
Any links for this?
Thanks.

You can search for music or you can add your own mp3's too... once you add music to this player at the Hypster site you don't have to keep re-adding the code to your page because it updates as you add songs...
That's the problem. They need to upload their songs to this player straight from where the player is placed. The site is to help them get their music heard. Not for me to be selfish you know? lol

It would be for all of us not just me and my own account.
With simple words, what is the main difference of other music players.
The issue is not to find any player for music, this is easy.
If a Ning site has members who are musicians they want to upload their own music. So far so good.

The Ning's main player concentrates all the latest music tracks with photo presentation for each track. It's a multi user’s player and also a personal player for each member. With every member's new uploading automatically the main player updates the list. It also has the option of embedding-sharing, the option of pop up window and the choice of sharing each track's URL (and many other options).

There is nowhere else player like this and Ning knows that. That's why Ning does not give only the player with extra money only for the player. They use this as a method for pushing creators with Plus plan to buy the Pro plan.

But i dont know if this creates profits for Ning or disappointment about Ning.
Well I did find a very easy to use Music Player Very easy to install on my own server. Can't say it will help much if you don't have a server. I also found away to be able to allow others to download their Mp3 straight to this player but you have to keep it on a separate page like a group page so not everyone can upload to it at will.

You can see the player I found here. http://www.sanctyfied.com/Player/
I am however racking my brain on how to embed this on the front page of my site. lol
I found a list of other players that may or may not help as well.

The Flamplayer here looks very good I tried messing with it some but I didn't have the time to install it right or something. But it has it's own admin area from what I gather.
At this point I'm about ready just to start my own page it is much cheaper that way.

The one I found is very easy to upload and it's ready to go. If anyone has suggestions on embed this on my front page. Please let me know.
