A fix was released here.
Case closed.
Hello
The slider most of us use as provided by a post here a few months ago has gone crazy. It starts ok after page load but soon shoots off skipping a slide every half second when viewed in Firefox or Chrome. It seems OK in IE.
I've checked everything and re-pasted the code.
I just don't get it. Any ideas?
view it here in FF but give it a minute - http://www.adelaidecyclists.com/

Permalink Reply by talkingrich - Media Activism on September 9, 2011 at 10:10am Thank you Dear Jords, I remember a dialogue from the movie in the west that said 'when God closes a door, somewhere he opens a window!'
In this case, 'when you don't show me how to fix my slider, i will find a better option!'
Please feel free to share this link with everyone around, and use it too. You and local arts live are invited as guests on our networks as well. Namaste. Shruti Raghuvanshi, New Delhi, India

Permalink Reply by talkingrich - Media Activism on September 9, 2011 at 10:55pm Thank You! We've put our heart into it. So a slider going crazy makes the heart break a bit, Namaste!!
Permalink Reply by Steven Holland on September 16, 2011 at 4:36pm Hello
I noticed that the images you have used fit perfectly within the slider, whereas my images (see createlinkgive.com.au) overlap.
Could you tell me your image dimensions?
Thank you
Steven

Permalink Reply by Gusk on September 9, 2011 at 10:12pm I have reverted my slider to the old one until this is fixed.
There seems to be some silence from Ning on it.
Permalink Reply by talkingrich - Media Activism on September 9, 2011 at 10:59pm Yes, we know.
Sometimes Silence can be misunderstood. But I'm sure they're equally concerned. May we get the link to your website, and the code, we'd like to try that out too... Would be greatly obliged, Namaste!
Permalink Reply by Kanti Kumar on September 10, 2011 at 7:16am I am having the same problem with the slider on our site http://tsr.net.co. We have just launched a new design with the slider as a major feature, and there it goes, zooming back and forth crazily! :-(
Permalink Reply by talkingrich - Media Activism on September 10, 2011 at 8:54am Namaste Kanti Bhai, That's a fabulous design! I must take tips from you! The slider being right at the top, up front and not work does create a dilemma, do check out the temp. solution that we're using http://creators.ning.com/forum/topics/slider-solution We too had spent a lot of time and resources redesigning 2 of our networks to blend with the slider. In fact, we had to match it with our joomla sites, and static websites which are around 14 in all!! So 'Biggg' disappointment!! :(

Permalink Reply by Kanti Kumar on September 11, 2011 at 2:39am Thanks Shruti. I can recommend the designer to you if you want. Pl send me a private message if interested... As for the Zenfolio slider option, I tried that because I have a Zenfolio account. But as some NCs have pointed out, you cannot link to a specific page from the slides, so it remains simply a slideshow and not a content highlight option. Much as the slideshow is nice, its use is limited for our site. So we are still living with this slider, hoping that Eric and team will fix it soon.
