A fix was released here.

Hello
The slider most of us use as provided by a post here a few months ago has gone crazy. It starts ok after page load but soon shoots off skipping a slide every half second when viewed in Firefox or Chrome. It seems OK in IE.
I've checked everything and re-pasted the code.
I just don't get it. Any ideas?
view it here in FF but give it a minute - http://www.adelaidecyclists.com/

Permalink Reply by Steve Hanner on September 7, 2011 at 4:15pm I have a similar issue, I click on a members picture to wish him a Happy Birthday and it goes nowhere, it just stops. When I first did it it threw everything off to the far left and then did nothing. I use Firefox.
The guy I wanted to wish Happy Birthday to just emailed me ..he can't get on his page...and he uses Firefox too.
Permalink Reply by Gusk on September 7, 2011 at 7:02pm I don't this this is a related issue but something separate. Perhaps monitor it and report it.
Permalink Reply by Steve Hanner on September 7, 2011 at 6:56pm OK I tried using IE8 and the exact same thing happened. I can't get his page. I thought while I was in IE8 i would check other member birthdays and they all work...Is this a curse on one guy?
Permalink Reply by Matt Zanderigo on September 8, 2011 at 9:51am Did you ever figure this problem out? I have similar issues....
Permalink Reply by LocalArtsLive on September 8, 2011 at 1:29pm I have the same issue on http://LocalArtsLive.com. I have not added any other custom code to the home page. I'm using Chrome, and it comes up fine, then at some point starts spinning. It was working fine initially.
Permalink Reply by Tony Craig on September 9, 2011 at 7:20am Same thing here (www.clayconnect.ning.com) - and on firefox, chrome and IE9. Slider pix just take off, but fine after refresh. We are running an ad banner (just text) above the header; we have custom code in the Advanced CSS for adding our logo to the headings on pages (came from Jen, I think); and Google Analytics code in the Custom Code.
Hope that provides some additional detail.
Permalink Reply by Matt Zanderigo on September 9, 2011 at 7:36am Does anyone have some custom code or changes that we could make to our code that would prevent the slider from freaking out???
Permalink Reply by talkingrich - Media Activism on September 9, 2011 at 7:42am Hi, you can tweek the code, stop the slider temporarily, but the rest we've tried out!
Waiting for Eric to help out. For the time being we're using this free slide-show http://talkingrich.net/ , try it out! (with or without the music!) The freaky slider has been put in our leaderboards page http://talkingrich.net/leaderboards)
All the best to us!!

Permalink Reply by LocalArtsLive on September 9, 2011 at 8:07am I like the slide show you are using now even better! I prefer the dissolves over the slider. Any chance you could post the code for this?
Permalink Reply by talkingrich - Media Activism on September 9, 2011 at 10:11am Absolutely, that's what Ning Creators are for!! Here you are http://www.zenfolio.com/ !!
And don't forget to share it with everyone, add us as a friend!
Namaste!
Permalink Reply by LocalArtsLive on September 9, 2011 at 2:33pm Thank you, Namaste.
This has potential, but I like having the ability for users to click on the slider and go to a specified URL. As a slide show, that feature is missing on zenfolio.
I think I'll just stick with the freaked out version for now.
Permalink Reply by talkingrich - Media Activism on September 9, 2011 at 10:40pm You're right! The URL link is missing. Do let us know if you find some solutions as well. Namaste, Thank You!
