One of my NING sites is for a DayCare center. They want both privacy and public access! We've managed to make certain pages of the site private or public as the owner's have requested however I've just become aware of a problem with member profile pages.
If the members set their page individually to private (can I do it as a NING creator?) the pages are still searchable. I think the DayCare parents want complete privacy so I need to remove profile pages from search bots but need specific directions how to do that.
Can anyone help?
Thank you.
Stephanie

Can you provide an example that shows otherwise with your internal search so we can check it out? You may want to submit that privately to our support team from the Support link on your dashboard.
If you are speaking of Google search: Note that if you have recently switched a profile page to private, Google will not automatically notice this. Google will need to reindex your site.
You may also want to read about this and other details in our Help Center.

The site (littlebeginnings.ning.com) owner prefers to make member pages as invisible as possible to any web searches. She wants more security than the "This profile is set to private" page that shows up.
I followed your link for other details but seem to be overlooking specifics as to how to get Google to reindex my site.
Thanks.

That's something that we can't control. This help article of theirs might help speed that up, although I have never tried this process myself.
