Need some help on little modifications to be done on my NING site ( easy CSS ? )

Hi all,

 

I'm at my second NING site which is the english version of my previous first one ... what sucks is that I used the PURE DARK theme to get the first one going and it is not available in the new themes and can't find the CSS for it ....

 

Anyhow I managed to modify one so it looks alike but 2-3 little things are bugging me.

First of is the top bar ... I'd like that bar to be full black ... is there any ways ? I found the CSS to make it black but then theres a little bottom line that becomes grey and to change that makes my text go another color ...

 

Second is the little dot division between the tabs

Third is if you look on each side of the tabs, you see a little white line ... it doesn't belong there lol!

 

Any ways to modify that ?

the difference is the old design editor is not available for the new networks, once the new design studio went live.

 

On Issue #1, i posted a discussion about this exact issue yesterday. it needs to be fixed, as a hack to cover it, in my opinion would be sloppy.

 

On issue #2, somewhere in your design dials is a way (i THINK) to get rid of that. As a suggestion, first off, Im a HUGE fan of dark background sites. However, in my opinion (which was gained from a suggestion to me months ago) is you need to "break up" your modules....in other words, border them. this will give your site a more filled feel, plus, if for some reason you cannot change those dotted lines, will help blend them greatly. I'm now thinking those lines are 100% result of the theme you used and modified.

As for the dark theme, I did the site for someone and he loves it black, no definition of different color box - outline.

And now the dotted lines between the Tabs just kills it IMO and looks out of place. I am trying to make it look the same but these little things are bugging him.

 

I tried everywhere and can't find how to remove them.

 

As for issue number 1, I guess we will have to wait for a fix

french version looks awespome man.....i like how, since your background moves with the scrolling it fades....you may want to look at fixing the background so it doesnt move, just the modules do, loos too cool, kinda gives it a 3D effect.

 

Im totally convinced the dotted lines are there due to the base theme you selected on the English version, in the new design studio. Save that theme on your test network, and then try out the "sports fan" theme, i am pretty sure those lines will not appear in that base theme. you can then have your test network open in one tab, and your real network in the other, and tab back and forth, and quickly copy the color schemes over, takes about 5 minutes to re-do on a new base theme in that method. im going to shoot you a friend request here, if you want to play around and brainstorm some with your test network, i'll be glad to toss you a couple screenshots that may expand your thoughts some on borders. the new DS is really awesome with borders once you can grasp a couple tricks with it!

JP : yours might have work too but the one Vags gave me, so I didn't bother lol but the top bar one WORKED.
