This is my first post.
I'm excited to be here among the brightest minds in cyberspace. My name is Grant and my previous exposure to Ning was to create a "digital town square community" at N2Marshfield. Now I've been asked to create an Online version of an on-ground job fair, for my client who puts on fairs here in the Midwest. To his credit, he is eager to add Ning's functionality to grow his community, but, he wants to use Ning as his corporate website as well.
That's why I'm asking: Is there a best way to combine the look and feel of a "corporate website" with the robust functionality of Ning? Maybe a corporate landing page built on a Wordpress platform or something that clicks through to the Ning platform, but not on the same URL?
Obviously, I'm not a web designer. I'm just a believer. And I know there's a way to do this.
I will try to give back to this site, when I can.
For now, I'm in need of some help.
I did something like this with wordpress. you can check it out here www.cctvblog.com
Frankie, That's a beautiful solution. Thanks for sharing it. A perfect example of what we'd like to accomplish.
I would be interested in learning more about your background. Do you do this type of design work for a living? Are you a developer, or associated with the organization represented, the cctv? Thanks.
You are an expert "fiddler" I wish I had your know-how. I'm going to need to find someone who can make it happen for us, if we choose to go this route, which I think looks like the best of both worlds. Your thoughts?
