I just discovered a huge issue with Scripts4Ning's secondary Forum. I only create this discussion to warn other S4N subscribers, to apologize to anyone who has experienced this on JenSocial - - and, to give you all a good laugh! I bet Mr. Anti-Social would be so proud. Keep reading...LOL!
Excerpt from my Support Ticket Email to Ning:
"Good grief! Talking about a shocker and an emergency! I was testing my Directory Listings (secondary Forum by Scripts4Ning), adding a new Directory Listing. I was signed in as PetBrags. When I add the new record, two fields are already populated with someone else's data. Of all things, a Member who had a site called anti-social society network (theass.ning.com/) is auto-populated in the fields for: URL and his email. See attached screen shot. ....This needs to be corrected asap."

Ha! Sounds like this discussion wouldn't be "good for kids," so it's good you left that box unchecked. Thanks for sending in a ticket. Does this happen when you're signed in as another user on JenSocial? These fields aren't standard in regular forum posts, so I'm wondering if these are legacy fields getting filled in with some random data (alphabetical by name, perhaps?) or if there might some other code at work. Please keep us posted here and in your support ticket!

I know, right? LOL! What are the odds? =)
Aaron, just so you know, those fields are critical to this special forum, what makes it a Directory. I tested adding a new Directory Listing signed in as JenSocial too, and same thing. I didn't try with another test account. I'll do that and let you know.
Thanks in advance,
Jen

Yeah, I signed in with a test member account, same thing.
Thanks,
Jen
Hi Jen,
I have a S4N secondary forum too. Ours is used for reviews.
I tested this and did get some pre-populated fields on the "Contact" line. Not as colorful as yours though! It looks like those "Contact" fields are pre-populated with info from the last entry into that forum. Does that match up with what you are seeing?
I would like to eliminate this too. Let us know if you find a workaround.
Thx!

I was able to reproduce this on a test network I have with S4N, again with different (less "colorful") results—I got ning.com instead of what Jen got above. It's good to know the problem is with the script and not with any customization (or lack thereof). We'll keep looking into this.

@Clark, Mine is fixed, and hope yours is too. =) Ning Support rocks!

I think we found the culprit and have updated the corresponding script. This looks to have fixed the issue. If you're experiencing this issue on your network, try updating your Scripts4Ning. That should clear out those pre-populated fields for you.

Aaron and Monica,
You Guys are the best! Fantastic! GREAT JOB! Thank you so much, and especially for getting this resolved so quickly. I really appreciate it.
Best Regards,
Jen
Still pre-populating the Contact fields for me.
As for all things S4N... this is really digging back into the recesses of my brain... ;-)
How do we update our Scripts4Ning?
Thanks Monica and Aaron!

I didn't see this on your network, so if you're still seeing issues, you might want to submit a ticket to us about it. This fix was made to the Reviews & Ratings script.
To update your Scripts4Ning, go to your Scripts4Ning management page and you should see a "Get Updates" button in the upper right side of the screen. Click that and your scripts will automatically update after that.
OK... but links to the S4N management page keeps getting moved / removed from our Manage page. Where do I find that link currently?
(PS. The network I'm having this issue on is not the one listed in my profile here. I have PM'ed you the network.)

The best way for us to help you with any issues you're having is through a support ticket sent from your network, as we don't typically respond to private messages.
You can find the "Scripts4Ning" link in the drop-down menu that you see when you click on the tools icon in the upper left of your network. It'll look like this. This won't display in the regular list of options in your dashboard, only from the drop-down menu. You can also get to it by adding this to your network's URL, like so:
http://yournetwork.ning.com/main/dashboard?ext=adminrules&task=...
