Network Creators: If you joined JenSocial, added a Directory Listing, and got a surprise, my apologies...

I just discovered a huge issue with Scripts4Ning's secondary Forum. I only create this discussion to warn other S4N subscribers, to apologize to anyone who has experienced this on JenSocial - - and, to give you all a good laugh! I bet Mr. Anti-Social would be so proud. Keep reading...LOL!

 

Excerpt from my Support Ticket Email to Ning:

"Good grief! Talking about a shocker and an emergency! I was testing my Directory Listings (secondary Forum by Scripts4Ning), adding a new Directory Listing. I was signed in as PetBrags. When I add the new record, two fields are already populated with someone else's data. Of all things, a Member who had a site called anti-social society network (theass.ning.com/) is auto-populated in the fields for: URL and his email. See attached screen shot.  ....This needs to be corrected asap."

The Scripts4Ning link is not where you say it should be on either of our networks that have S4N running on them.  See screenshot below.  Where else should I look for the S4N link?

I do have the link in dropdown. But I have had times that it's not there. Try this link with your network domain:

/main/dashboard?ext=adminrules&task=edit

That works!  In fact I was just coming back here to tell Monica that the URL she gave (same as you gave) DID get me to the S4N manage page.

Now... I'm not sure what else is happening tonight because my "Forum" tab on one of my sites (along with all it's sub-tabs) completely disappeared.  The pages are there (if you knew the URL) but there was no reference to them on the site at all.  They aren't even listed in the "Link to Existing Page" drop down list.  They disappeared without ever going to the Tabs and Pages page.  Aaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrgggh.  (Ticket #00793410 for you Ning folks)  This is not the first time that I have edited one thing from Manage and a different thing (that I haven't even touched) has completely disappeared.  But this is way off topic.

Because of the way S4N works, the link is only "injected" onto the main dashboard page (network.ning.com/main/dashboard) in the toolbar dropdown. It won't appear on other pages. That link's definitely a handy one to keep around, so thanks for sharing!
