New Extension Integrates Constant Contact with Your Ning Network

Hello again, Network Creators!

Do you send out email newsletters or other types of communications that need an extra level of polish? If so, you will be happy to hear about our new partnership with the popular Web-based email marketing provider Constant Contact.

We’ve just released a new Ning Extension that integrates Constant Contact to enable you to automatically add new members who join your network to a specific list in your Constant Contact account. It’s opt-in friendly, too. You can even create a special profile question to let new members opt in to your Constant Contact list. You can continue to use your Ning Network to attract new customers, evangelists, and fans and build up a thriving community. What’s great about this new extension is that it will seamlessly maintain an updated Constant Contact list, which lets you focus on sending out some sweet-looking email newsletters.

The new Constant Contact Extension is live and available for all Ning Plus and Pro customers. You’ll find it in the Extensions section of your dashboard.

If you’re already a Constant Contact customer, you can quickly and easily connect your existing account and upload your members’ contact information.

If you’re not currently a Constant Contact customer, you may want to check out their offers. Their pricing is pretty attractive, with plans starting at $15/month that include an unlimited number of messages. They offer a 60-day free trial that provides most of the functionality of a full subscription, which is a great way to try it out.

We’re very excited about this new Ning Extension, partly because a number of Network Creators have requested it, but more importantly because we think it will be an excellent tool for Network Creators who may not have considered all they can accomplish with a professional-grade email marketing service like Constant Contact.

Hi Phil,

thank you - but the message will be like spam in their mailboxes, right ?

Eric, mass email surveys are like a specialized tracking.  But instead of telling you the email was opened, it tells you what they did with it.  For example, I track which emails are opened, and which links (if any) were clicked.  Tracking conversions is obviously a lot more helpful.

Kudos for Ning! I'm glad there's now a feature for consumer-driven NC's to use, however, for us charitable, not-for-profit, entities, paying $15 per month is just not in our budget. We are one of those charities that donate 60% of our earnings, so in order to be able to afford the third party add-ons that requires payment, we would have to take from those we give to, which would defeat the purpose of our charity. But I am happy for our NCs who will use this new feature.

Cheers!

Hi Eric !

Great news. Is there any planned partnership with MailChimp ?

Pierre

I'm not currently aware of a MailChimp integration in the works. I'm a fan of both products myself.

A lot of people is fan of Mailchimp ;-)

I don't really know CC but I suppose propose more or less the same stuff... (with a free account also)

If Ning could make the same thing with Mailchimp that you did with CC, it would be just great :)

I hope the deal with CC will still let it possible even if it's their competitor...

Yeah Mailchimp would be great!

I second that.

me too! I've been a happy customer of Mailchimp for 5 years now. I really wish Ning would create a Mailchimp extension just like the CC one. Please?

I also vote for Mailchimp integration please :-)

yes mailchimp! seems like all the users here are asking for mailchimp!
ConstantContact is fine but more expensive.
Ditto!
